I couldn't disagree more with both of those statements. You must never have seen a prime Vargas. He fought on equal terms punch for punch with a lightning quick Winky Wright, and clearly outpointed a prime Ike Quartey. He also had moments where he was dominating a prime Felix Trinidad. Hilarious statement. Cotto did alot of things wrong against Margarito, but nothing he could have corrected. He did the best he could.
I agree, Cotto's career thus far has turned out be of the biggest hypes in recent boxing history. Cotto has never beaten an elite fighter in his prime. It's cool if Cotto has fans that support him, but it's not appropriate to exaggerate his accomplishments and his true place. We discredit the sport with that crap. Cotto didn't even clearly beat an old/shot Mosley. He beat him by the skin of his teeth. A completely shot Fernando Vargas with no balance, handspeed, or reflexes fought on equal terms with fast fading Mosley several years ago.
