Watch Cotto earlier fights. He looked noticably faster then compared to his recent fights. He's definitely slowed down.

That's fair and I think it definitely is a very close risky match for both guys going in. I'm just going with all Pacs momentum, but actually hope Cotto makes it very tough fight. Hopefully a hard W for Pac in the end. Cotto is the number two welter behind Mosley at the moment. And actually owns a very tight win over him, so I definitely don't look past him.

Cotto is not exactly a turtle but any boxing fan knows that MP is faster than Cotto.

That is a clear advantage (momentum) he's on a helluva rise. I think whoever wins its going to be a hard fought battle. When I first heard of the fight, I was thinking of not even watching it, thinking it was a mismatch ... then I dusted off some tapes of Cotto (including the Margarito fight) and some of Pacquiao and noticed what both fighters have and what they don't have. As I've looked deeper into it, I realized that it wasn't such as mismatch as I first thought. I'm not a huge fan of Cotto and i'm not a huge fan of Pacquiao, but when it comes to an unbias opinion, I have to give the edge to Cotto.

You know that Cotto was hands down faster than Margarito and at the end of the day speed had nothing to do with that outcome. Just something for thought.

Pac is on a roll and it's hard to see him losing to Cotto. Cotto's last two years has been grueling with Zab, Mosley, Marg, and Clottey. In every one of those fights there were glimpses on how to beat him. He is simply fighting bigger stronger guys bar Judah. So I know Cotto will be trying to use his size as much or more than his speed since he will have a strength advantage he hasn't had in a while. I see the first half very competitive with Pac eventually wearing Cotto down the stretch. He may be able to keep up handwise but I don't see him overcoming Pacs footspeed and upper body movement. Cotto does hold a few similarities with Sanchez moreso than Hatton did.

It was hard to see Cotto lose to Margarito but it happened ... it happens

Thats why its boxing, if it was so clear cut there would be no need for them to fight each other.

He's not slower either ... he's the same as he's always been, nothing has changed with Cotto ... he's more consistant than a majority of the fighters out there.

When I think of slowing down, I think of Fernando Vargas after he lost to DLH.

What the **** were you smokin before that fight. I knew Cotto was in for the beating of his life. But Pac ain't no Margarito... or Joshua Clottey for that matter.

    You will see.

The question of the Thread is .... "Is Cotto too slow for Pac" ... and my answer is "Hell NO"

This isn't going to be a David Diaz 2 ... now that guy was too slow for Pac ... Pac isn't unbeatable ... if he has the fight game plan ... fights a discipline fight ... and keeps his aggresssion controlled, this could be an easy fight for Cotto.

I'm not going to debate with you about that night ... in my eyes there was no way for Cotto to lose to Margarito _ who was a ton slower, lacked defense and movement, and doesn't know how to fight going backwards or use angles.

The clear advantages were to Cotto _ only thing that people relyed on was Margarito's chin. He had no technical advantages _

After watching Cotto fight Mosley I could see Marg had the pressure and stamina to do a number on him. No one watching the fight with me thought it was gonna happen but I was able to win a few bucks off them.
