in my opinion im not even that excitied to see if from the aspect of seeing a copetitive match up..

cotto is going to chew margarito up....
the skill level isnt even that close in my eyes..

Its not always about skill level and Margarito knows how to turn a boxing match into a fight.

Margarito is bigger, throws more and has a mad chin.
Cotto has stamina questions, Margarito does not. Cotto has been clearly hurt by smaller guys with less power. Magarito barely bats an eyelight taking bombs from big bangers and is well & truly battletested.

I think Miguel can quite easily but will have to do it with a gameplan, I sincerely doubt he stops Margarito, especially early.

This might end up being a boring, one sided fight but it is a fight to get excited about.

I don't think Cotto will have too much trouble with Margo but I haven't sat down and analyzed the fight yet. I am excited for it though.

IMHO, the thinking fighter that Cotto is, he'll definitely try to box Margo. He knows what an outstanding chin and ferocious workrate Margo has. I'm sure he's aware of that uppercut too.

Unless Cotto proves me wrong and tries to stand in front of Margo and try to outpunch him, then we're in for a great fight.

With a PBF fight just around the corner, I highly doubt it Cotto will risk his mug against a bigger and stronger guy when he can use angles, handspeed and footwork for a W.

I agree that this may not be exciting although for a different reason, not that it will be one-sided for Cotto, but because it wil be his best chance of winning.

Hell yeah, it's exciting. Its not Cotto-PBF, but it's the next best thing.

You are right it isn't PBF-Cotto. Thank God for that.

As long as it is for two belts its worth doing. If Marg has to give up the IBF belt then its bull****.

This has a lot of potential to be fight of the year.

In fact, I'll already say it's fight of the year because it will be.

No way this beats Marquez/Vazquez III, no way. Cotto is going to box circles around Margo and brutalize him. Its highly possible Cotto becomes the first guy to stop Margo (I see a late tko), but if not then he will win a comfortable decision on the cards

this will be a ****en badass fight....i think cotto feels that if mosley (who might be a harder hitter than margo) can't hurt him, most definately margo can't......it'll be a slugfest at times and there will also be times when cotto is using his boxing to maybe win some rounds....

i'm heartbroken as **** knowing that 2 of my fav's are facing each other, i just hope it's a draw !!!

i've got no doubt cotto wins.

    still a good fight though.

    margarito will keep plugging away.

puerto rico vs mexico - cotto is nasty with the mexicans as gomez found out on saturday night. :yep

it's a shame the ibf title won't be getting unified in the process. i see margo will be stripped and clottey will fight for the vacant belt. :-(

i thought fighters had to fight their mandatory within 6 months.....what's wrong with margo keeping the title, letting it unify and the winner can take on clottey and beat his ass up.....

    did i say that.

all i said was that cotto is nasty with mexicans.

he's fought a few in his career and really gone to town on em.

cotto still gets the better of margo though amigo. :yep

arum said on BT that if margo signed for the cotto fight he'd be stripped. :patsch

he didn't rule out the possibility of the winner fighting clottey next though.
