Yes, a champion would take a dive if he is offered the biggest purse in his
carreer. Ortiz was not very popular and Never thought he would be given the chance to fight Floyd. If the offer is good why not believe it ?

I do not need to be in a ring to see what is going on.

This is a lie. He just was never able to land after that and Floyd found his rhythm and started landing right hands, and counters all night..

Why do you ignore that after 2 rounds mosley slowed down and did nothing to win this fight. Even commentators of this fight were critizising Mosley during the fight for not throwing punches. After hurting Floyd it looks like he remembered or was reminded what he had to do.

So let me get this straight, Ortiz, Mosley, and Cotto are too big of a challenge for Mayweather to overcome legitimately, and therefore he needs them to take a dive in order to beat them? Is that what we're saying here?

EVERY fight is a "Set-UP" fight...
Meaning a win set's up a potential clash Vs. another fighter.

Do promoters match up fighter's they perceive to be be easier fights to ensure "their" man has the best possibility to come out with a "W" then yes, Absolutely.
(Thank (Insert Your man in the sky here...) for the underdog)

Mosley was throwing to the body knowing how floyd would defend it, this in turn set up hit head attack

Once floyd had seen this he made adjustments to not get hit like this again

Someone posted examples before here from that fight showing how Mayweather countered Mosleys gameplan

The only reason Floyd scheduled this fight was to stay out of jail. Unfortunately for Floyd, he couldn't find a patsy in time and had to pick Cotto - a dangerous fighter - in time to get the Nevada State Boxing Commision to grant his Boxing License for the May 5 fight and keep him out of jail.

Floyd better hope it was worth it.

Also I doubt three of the biggest fighters in the sport would take dives, when if Floyd truly couldnt beat them, and Ortiz, Cotto and Mosley won then it would propel them to the top of the p4p list... Making them buckets of money in the future.
