there are two sides to this argument. one argument is, there is only one other hall of famer on his resume that he beat, and that's mosley, and you can make an argument that fight could have gone either way. the other side of the argument is he had good skills held titles in two weight classes. i think he's definatley hall of fame especially if there's talk of someone like gatti getting in , as much as i like to watch him fight.

I think he is...but his chance will probably b diminished because of his bravery to fight the best.

I don't think so. He is on of the better fighters around today but the HOF is supposed to be for the best of all time IMO. I think that the criteria for the HOF has gotten way too relaxed. I hear people say that guys like Cotto, Hatton, Tarver etc belong in the HOF and I just disagree

He's not done yet. He is the best and most popular puerto rican fighter of this decade (Tito did all his work pre 2000) and alreayd has a very solid resume, if he goes on to beat a few more top fighters which I think he will, he has a good chance.

As of now no. He's never been the man of a division nor won a title that wasn't vacant.

Not even close. He's a popular fighter, so he might get more consideration. But he really hasn't beaten many top fighters who were actually in their prime. I think that should be a prerequisite of induction.

The fact that he's puerto rican really doesn't or shouldn't matter when it comes to the hall of fame. Yes, his country has a long and impressive history when it comes to boxing. But Cotto is not hall of fame material, bot yet.

He has a case and he is still young. If he is not damaged goods and makes a good comeback it is very possible. Great resume, great fights, two weight champ, numerous title fights, 3 time title holder, popular, classy, the last two will do you favors in the long run. However if Cotto becomes a jeff lacy who gets damaged young and fights wars against stiffs and loses badly to the best then he would lose HOF. If he bounces back wins another belt maybe against Moseley I mean Cotto only got better and Moseley only got older. And then has another good reign and puts away guys of the caliber he has already beaten. Another interesting thing is Moseley does not do well in rematches of losses. Wright and Forrest both beat him twice. Yet he wins the rematches he won De La Hoya and Vargas

Not quite yet. Would need one or two more big wins. But he has a good argument. Belts in 2 weight classes. A win over future HOFer Mosley. Wins over 10 future or past titlists. 12 wins over Ring top 10 fighters.

Roberto Duran, Muhummad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, Miguel Cotto.

    Nope.

Miguel Cotto is a good titlist in this very weak era of boxing, nothing more and prhaps nothing less.

I dont think so,he might be inducted into the hall of fame in puerto rico but the likes of pacquiao would get it here in US even tho he wasnt born or bred here and he doesnt live here but by all standards he deserve it here.
