I think he meant wins over better opposition.

IMO one more solid win puts him over the top. Right now he's borderline, leaning towards yes after a few years of eligibility.

ATG and HOF aren't the same thing. I think Cotto is a current great, not an all-time great and that he's done so much at a high level and with great fame and popularity, not to mention great drama and controversy involved that this is a hall of FAME career. He was after all just in one of the biggest and most historic fights of the modern era.

too early to ask bro. am i missing something? does cotto want to retire now?
yes he collected huge money in a fight w/ pac but i think he's still capable of beating other boxers and still young to make an adjustment.

Its hard to say:huh At first I thought na:nono Then i started thinking hey Barry Mcguigan is in the HOF and Cotto is better than him. Id say if he were to retire today maybe way down the line he should but hes far from a first ballot or even the first 10 years. Its hard to say Donald Curry isnt in and in his prime he was alot better than Cotto. If Cotto can get 1 big win id say yey,but the IBHOF kind of lowered there standards when they let a guy like Mcguigan in,who was a pretty good fighter but no way was he great.
Also Curtis Cokes was a very good fighter and Cotto is atleast on par with him so you could maybe make an exception for Cotto, but if you do that well then does that mean Vargas should get in?? They have similar resumes.

WTF:patsch Being born or bred here has nothing to do with it. It is called the INTERNATIONAL Boxing Hall of Fame. A good Portion of the fighters in the Hall are foreign born, check it out!

By the end of his career he will be considered HOF.

His career isn't over and he has already fought a lot of the best and won titles in two deep divisions.

Its not because he has a couple of losses that I think he does not deserve to be in HOF, its the way he lost those fight. He was completely taken apart by PAc and Margarito gave him a beating and Cotto should be in his prime or at least very close to it.

in the future i think he will. Should he fight Margo again and win (which I do hope) and maybe another big name..then he does deserve it.
