At age 46 and with 10 losses in 26 fights why is this guy going on? He may win one but then he loses the next. What does he hope to accomplish?...or is he just having fun doing what he loves? He is certainly a fan favorite but will he soon become a joke (like Holyfield)?

MMA is not judged solely on record like boxing usually is. And if you look at his fight with Nog, he was very competitive for a good portion of that fight. However, if he loses convincingly to Vera, I will concur that he needs to hang em up.

He doesn't seem to be slightly brain damaged for a start, and he can still compete at the top level in UFC, pretty much. So no, he isn't a joke like Holyfield.

If they wanna fight who are we to tell them not to ? Couture is competitive at Heavyweight and is going to make another run at 205 if he gets ****ed up their by Vera then maybe its time. Holyfield at 47 is far from a joke IMO he won 4 straight and was somewhat competitive with Ibragimov for a title and beat Valuev for the WBA just he got robbed.

  6. I see similaritys. I wouldn't go saying it around official fight professionals though.

His chin is starting to go bad though, Nog isn't exactly a knockout artist but he dropped Randy, and it would likely get worse at 205 from having to cut weight.

Being that they're both able to still shoehorn their way into some relatively big fights, I guess the comparison holds water.
