Very hard to prove yourself as an ATG H2H monster in this low output era. All based on the eye test and subjective. he’s the best around now, let’s hope we see him in a good competitive match up soon
Honestly, no. I think too many people in the boxing community is putting too much stock in his win against Spence when it is clear that something was wrong with that version of Spence. Like Thurman said, "That Spence loses to every Top 5 WW." Crawford, unfortunately, has been a victim of circumstance. Postol is overrated and has lost pretty much every big fight he has been in. Khan: Past his prime. Brook: Past his prime. Horn: Lost to Manny and has not had a signature win since. Porter: On his way to retirement. Diaz: Overhyped. Gamboa: Too small. Avanysean: Need I say More Kava: Nothing Special Spence: A walking corpse.
He's looked invincible in recent years but let's be honest, he's fought in an era when the divisions he fought in were lacking depth and talent. Spence is easily the best fighter he has fought and Spence is not a great fighter, he's probably on a similar level to Kell Brook. It's easy to look invincible when the competition simply isn't that good. I can't really see Crawford as a H2H historical monster. I think Mayweather at 147 would have beaten him without too much difficulty. Pac would be favoured against him also.
I'm confused. You said the other day that Floyd couldn't have competed today with Crawford and Spence etc. Yet you're now saying that you don't rate Crawford that highly, and that he's just a more rugged Lara. So which is it?
Hmm? my first thought here was he'd beat Curry, then after seeing your post I'll go along with him beating the others also. Not that these fights would be easy mind you, but he could pull it off I think.
I'd say it's difficult to accurately rate him just due to his thin resume. He's got the skills obviously. Can box and punch. Likely give most top guys in his weight a tough fight at the minimum.
