Yes, I believe so. Floyd never put on a performance like that at 147 lbs. Even the Canelo clinic he out pointed him, didn't whoop his ass like Bud does. He's on such a spree of KOs at 147 too, crazy.
Bud is an undisputed WW champion, 8-0 with 8 KOs. Absolutely dominant. He would have stopped most Floyd's opponents at 147. So I'd say yes. I give Floyd edge at 135 and 140 though
Maybe but beating Spence who I've always thought was overrated doesn't prove it to me. Prime Pac beats Spence and Mayweather toys with Spence too. But this amazing win for Crawford puts him up there with the greats and his career isn't over, 154 isn't deep, he beats everyone there.
Man, bud isn't a Picasso but he could make the Mona Lisa smile, he doesn't have extreme power but he packs a punch. He fights with a more entertaining style than Floyd, yet isn't nearly as great as Floyd. He fights with more heart than Floyd, he doesn't wait for his opponent to blow his load like Floyd does; but he fights like a live dog every moment of each round. He is the TRUTH, a subtle killer, punch placement is his best quality!!! He let Errol off so many times, yet almost closed the show many times. Errol was strong, everytime he got rocked, he regained composure to come back in the fight but bud, who not looks like a puncher was a BIGGER puncher than the monster, the knockout machine that is supposed to be in Errol Spence junior. Everything teddy said about bud was true: the most natural fighter he's ever seen, and the best switch hitters in the game. Bud made his statement. Pound for pound #1 neither a perfect finisher but a shark who smells blood in the water. Kudos to Terrance Crawford the unified welterweight champion. He is going places and seeing faces. The way his team come around for him= perfect, surrounded by good people and sportsmanlike too! Bud Crawford, you da man.
Comparison is unfair, impossible and futile. Be happy with best fighter of last generation. Comparable best fighter of current generation. Not sure how many weight divisions in history can claim that,
What Crawford did was he wrote down his magnum opus (masterpiece). A living legend. History will require all future fighters to study this fight.
Yeah that was like Hopkins beating Trinidad, I hope it opens peoples eyes and just realise how special a fighter he is now and maybe he actually grows his fanbase out of his small hardcore following, the man has the skills that deserve to be seen on a bigger stage. It's just such a real shame now with him beating Spence there is no other real big fights for him ay 147. Ennis is probably as good as it gets for him at 147 and that doesn't have big PPV written all over it and at 154 it's even worse. Maybe if Jermell does well vs Canelo he could move back down and we see a fight between Bud and Jermell.
