Might sound like I'm always on crawfords ass but I think this flatters to deceive abit..canelo is well on the slide , don't get me wrong it's a great achievement basically jumping 3 divisions to beat canelo..but I don't think it makes him best of his generation...I still think usyk deserves that..its a shame for Crawford really..while I respect his talent and skill I do think when you look back his resume is too thin..but j suppose you can pick holes like that in most people. Also guy looks massive...I'm almost convinced he's been massively cut down weight bully lol
While that's impressive it isn't enough to put him above Crawford imo. The big boys he fought are nowhere near as great as Canelo.
If Canelo was named Kanelov, he would have lost 6 times by age 30. Crawford will never come close to Usyk resumé. Not totally his fault but that's how things are.
Here is the truth. Neither Crawford or Usyk has ever taken on a legend in their prime. Fury is not an ATG. Neither is Gassiev. The best fighter in their prime that Usyk fought was Briedis. And the best that Crawford fought in their prime was Madrimov. To put things into perspective. They are both great fighters, but lack a historically legendary victory.
This is the main thing I got from this fight: Crawford is the worst weight bully in the sport. Looked massive even at 168. And looked drained at the weigh in just to make 168 lmao.
Canelo has had a far greater career than anybody Usyk beat. Even if you gave him 6 losses and ignore how close those fights were, look at who they'd be against. Lara, Golovkin, Trout. And he'd still have a series of very good wins on his resume. Compare this to Fury who if we use this same logic would have losses to John McDermott, Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou lmao.
That has what has cracked me up about the build up to the fight and now the post-fight glazing of Crawford. Yeah, it was a great performance and all, but this whole idea that it's some super special achievement because Bud jumped to 168 is laughable. Bud walks around in normal life at close to 190 pounds. He's got a 75 inch freaking reach which is only 3 inches shorter than Usyk's. The guy is huge. You wanna know why guys like Gamboa or Mean Machine could rock him more than Canelo? Because he was wildly weight drained to make it down to 135 and 140. Bud, like most American fighters, makes weight bullying into a sport. It's flat out obscene. Again, good win, but he beat an old and shopworn Canelo while actually being the same size as Canelo. Doesn't hold a candle to Usyk kicking the ass and almost KO'ing an undefeated giant who is half a foot taller and outweighed him by 60 pounds. Not to mention AJ and Dubois being quite a bit bigger than Usyk, too. They'll have Bud as P4P #1 by Monday, though. Typical post-fight hype combined with Bud being American will seal that deal.
Yes, of course Bud will be p4p in every publication by Monday. Bud is an American with a large ethnic following. And Usyk is from Ukraine. If Briedis was a Mexican he would be considered a p4p ATG.
