That's true, but one was literally Floyd Mayweather, and the other was a light heavyweight. Though Lara did give Canelo hell too.
Out of camp weight isn't that indicative of how big a fighter really is. Crawford probably looks good at 186 lbs. but he is obviously carrying a good amount of fat on him compared to what he will weigh come fight night. I would guess the rehydration weight will favor Canelo by 5 lbs. or so. The important part is Crawford is fighting dudes much smaller and also not getting hit by guys at 168. I want Canelo to lose but I think he walks through Crawford with ease.
“Fighting weight” is training to one’s maximum capacity whilst simultaneously draining one’s weight. Every half of a pound matters. “Walking around weight” is training to a minimum capacity whilst simultaneously not caring about weight cutting. Keep that in mind.
I think Crawford might come in a bit flabby when he fights Canelo. That's what happened when Trinidad fought RJJr. He said his walking around weight was over 170, but that doesn't mean it was all healthy weight. Crawford is best trying to outpoint Canelo, not fighting him head on. There are a lot of factors here. We shall see what happens.
Crawford is the superior boxer but you can't just jump up 2 divisions and beat the top guys. If Crawford pulls this off, it will be an ATG win.
