By far. Gamboa's hand speed and timing was giving Crawford a lot of problems. Too bad inactivity ruined Gamboa's career though. Even in the Crawford fight Gamboa's foot speed wasn't what it used to be compared to when he was more active.
In terms of talent Gamboa probably rates as the best opponent that Crawford has faced. Due to their sizes, low activity, and Gamboa probably being a bit on the slide when they fought I wouldn't rate Gamboa as Crawford's best win. Postol is Crawford's best win and you could make a case for Indongo and Beltran ahead of Gamboa as well.
Ricky Burns, Tiny Gamboa, Wild Indongo, One hit wonder Postol Crawford went through Murderers row to get to number one P4P
To be fair getting a clear decision against Burns in his hometown is probably a great achievement. Burns was well known to have received several gifts from the crooked judges in title fights there before Crawford showed up.
If Gamboa was scaled up 10% his size he would have fared better, activity would have never helped Gamboa. Yurkois Gamboa is a natural Featherweight & Crawford is a natural Lightweight
