Still makes me sick. I have seen him train live a bunch back in the day and he is an absolute waste of a ton of talent.

I used to spend time around Kirk a while back, i was around him when he faced Ruiz on that disasterous night in Vegas, Curtis was the only one who was keeping team Johnson together, His high morale was down to a nice bunch of people, (Ken Lillen, his father , Curtis, Kirk himself) The original sparring partners were great too , Tyrell Biggs was a supporting member who i always compaired to Kirk in his younger days...... I do agree , Kirk wasted his talent to his expanding wasteline.... what a damn shame.....

Yeah, I figured Kirk's time had come that night he met Ruiz and was disappointed in the way that turned out. Kirk's KO of Maskaev was one of the most devastating KO's of that year and came at a time when Oleg had been on a real tear. Sad to see that potential go to waste.

Always appreciate your first hand knowledge of situations like that, Big Cat. :good

Too bad... I wonder what he'll do. It's not as though he made enough money to lay around the rest of his life.

He has indeed made enough money to never work again. He did not spend wildly.

He got 1 Mil in his deal with Duva, then had the two title fights, which probably paid him nicely. Other than that though, I don't think he took home a wheelbarrow full of cash. At best, he earned less than 2 million (before taxes). A lot of money to be sure, but not enough never to work again when you have a family to support.
