intresting read, especially the noise training. I think Geale is doing everything correctly and should come home the victor, he will have to win almost every round pretty clearly or knock Sylvester out, no way if its a close fight will he win it on the cards.
IBF TITLE AT STAKE IN GERMANY by Ron Jackson - Super Sport dot com - 5th May 2011 In Neubrandenburg, Germany, IBF middleweight champion Sebastian Sylvester faces Australian challenger Daniel Geale on Saturday night. The German, with a record of 34-3-1; 16, will defend his belt for the fourth time. Geale stands at 25-1; 15. Both are highly regarded by The Ring magazine, which has Sylvester at No 2 and Geale at No 4. The 30-year-old champion was a good amateur but his professional debut proved to be a disaster when he was stopped 1 minute 34 seconds into the fight by Yuri Zaystev on May 26, 2002. He then won his next 21 fights before Amin Asaiken stopped him in the eighth round in a bout for the European middleweight title in 2006. His only other loss was in 2008 when current WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm beat him on points. Geale, 30, is the mandatory challenger. It will be his first fight outside Australia. He won a gold medal in the welterweight division at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and was unbeaten in his first 21 professional fights. He then lost on a controversial split decision to countryman Anthony Mundine. This content is protected and has been dropped a number of times. Sylvester won the vacant IBF belt in September 2009 when he beat Giovanni Lorenzo on a split decision. He has made successful defences against Billy Lyell (tko 10), Roman Karmazin (draw 12) and Mahir Oral (points 12). On the same card, Britain’s Danny McIntosh defends his European light-heavyweight title against Eduard Gutknecht. 'Geale is inclined to be a wild' ....I don't think so Ron atsch

Geale attracts a heavy hitter by Adrian Warren - Nine MSN - May 5th 2011 Daniel Geale will have the support of one of world boxing's heaviest hitters heading into his challenge to IBF middleweight world champion Sebastian Sylvester in Germany this weekend. Geale has arrived in Neubrandenburg, the host city for Sunday's fight, after completing his heavy work in Berlin. This content is protected "He is definitely a good guy to have in our corner, a lot of experience," Geale told AAP over the phone from Germany. This content is protected There was no trash talk at the conference, where Geale was able to size up the champion. "He's got deceptively long arms, although I'm a bit taller, it doesn't mean I'm going to have height and reach on him," Geale said. Geale's trainer Graham Shaw felt Sylvester looked very drawn, but wasn't reading too much into the German's appearance. Meanwhile, former WBO interim lightweight world champion Michael Katsidis is set to have his first fight in Australia in over four years. Coming off successive losses to Juan Manuel Marquez and Robert Guerrero and the death of his brother Stathi last October, Katsidis felt the time was right to return home. "My last 10 fights have been overseas and I think now is the time for me to come back to Australia and bring an international opponent into my country," Katsidis said. "This is something I've been looking forward to for a long time, but until now, the timing just hasn't been right. "It's been a tough six months for me personally and I feel it is really important to come home and fight." No opponent has been finalised, with Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and his home town of Toowoomba all candidates to stage the bout.
I often hear of all the robberies in Germany however dont know which ones are being referred to which ones do you know of, Geale wins this weekend and a whole new world opens up to him a loss could see a relative Aussie based career from now on
ottke vs i cant remember they guys name, but ottke got absolutely schooled for 12 rounds and was given the easy decision, i also think green beyer 1 was a bit of a joke, with the ref saying the headbutt caused the cut and deducting 2 points instead of one, then stopping the fight in the 5th round , but that might be bias because im a green fan.
yeah mate i am a green fan and see what you are saying there but plenty on here who will dispute it was a robbery and tell you there was movemnt of the head and he was Dqed fine, has there really been a heap of others I cannot really remember any Aussies ( other then Green ) who has been ripped off in germany
Ottke vs Reid and Charles Brewer were both a little dubious Greeny was a rip off but at the end of the day, Green lost the plot and pushed his head into beyers, That gave the Germans the tiny little window of opportunity and they took it with both hands,
