Is Danny Garcia finished?

Herrera would be an elite fighter if he had enough power to get the big dogs and the JUDGES respect.

He can still eek out close wins over guys like Provo and Rios, but he's gonna have a tough time pitterpattering the title away from a star like Danny in his backyard.

Not saying he's not champion material, it's just someone like Peterson would beat Herrera 9/10, and Danny would be Peterson 10/10 times.

I think the Salka fight serves 2 purposes. It secures a KO win for Danny to look spectacular in while boosting his confidence, and it ensures the liklihood of a fight with Peterson in December.

Did Mathysee take something out of Danny.....maybe, but no more than Danny took out of Lucius.
Im a fan of both, and had both them barely ahead/winning their last fights vs huge underdogs....... but when you go down to the wire vs the best and 2nd best in the division then get a soft touch, it's liable to backfire b/c the star often doesnt take that opponent as serious as he might have before his marquee win.:think

 

The problem is Danny is not that good.

He had a good win against Khan, had to fight Morales corpse twice, barely escape Lucas (who went life and death after) and lost vs Herrera.

Reality.

 

No I don't think matthyse ruined garcia it was definitely herrara who ruined danny garcia.the real question is was danny garcia ever really that good? I mean danny garcia was getting smashed by kahn before he connected with a fluke punch on kahn's glass chin.had trouble with past prime ancient erik morales then he beats a puncher in mattyse who was clearly overrated and then danny garcia gets destroyed by Herrera.I mean herrara isn't some elite fighter he got beat by mike alverado.I wouldn't be surprised if sakla beats danny garcia.

 

Last time I checked...he's still undefeated!!!

 

@ chitownfightfan you don't know WTF ur talking about herrera didn't pitty patty his way through the fight he left danny garcia a bruised and bloody mess.it's not about getting the judges respect it's about the judges being corrupt and paid off.you don't know that peterson would beat herrara as a matter of fact peterson turned down a fight with Herrera peterson didn't want any part of Herrera.herrera isn't elite but he is clearly the best at 140.danny garcia is overrated.

 

Garcia beat the shiit out of Lucas ...most of you posters idolized.

At least Lucas got a clear win in his last fight. In addition, Molina had quality wins vs. Bey and Lundy. Danny didn't win his last fight in most opinions and got clowned in certain parts of that match.

C'mon Kush...you know that's a stretch.

It was definitely a wake up call ...however, Herrera isn't getting the credit he deserves.
He's a damn good fighter...no one punch KO power but a Darkhorse that will give anyone a run for their money!!!

 

Never happened. He won a close decision and a one-eyed Matthysse was smacking the mouthguard out of his grill down the stretch. Garcia was deaf and pissing blood for weeks after.

Garcia wants no rematch and has been beaten up for three consecutive fights. The Salka fight is a blessing for him.

 

Herrera did indeed take danny garcia's soul danny garcia will never be the same.herrera is a smaller version of hopkins fighters are never the same after fighting him.

 

Lucas got so insanely damaged after the Garcia fight.

Garcia cracked his chin horribly... Lucas thought about retiring until he talked with his mom.... Lucas has never been a legitimate world champion..... Lucas took a 650k paycut... his career at the top is finished!!

 

Not it's true that's why Danny's visiting the local YMCA to pick opponents now.

At least he's not cotto and leaving the amputee hospitals alone
