    This.

Had Peterson been trying to score throughout the entire fight he would have won it.

I felt Garcia did outscore him in this fight but will never give him a re-match. It's a wakeup call when fighters don't roll over and play dead at your first left hook.

I don't think he was able to hurt Peterson- and if they meet again, Peterson will be after him.

Garcia is an accomplished boxer, but there are sharper and hungrier dogs out there.

Yea I think Peterson should be kicking himself today, especially since it appeared that once he started applying real pressure, like he did in round 8, he had a much better chance to beat Garcia. Gave away way too many early rounds, and started clowning around a little too much down the stretch. Peterson went into full DLH mode (the last 3 rounds of Trinidad fight) for the first half of the fight and it cost him. No robbery here Garcia won clearly.

He's still a very good fighter and capable of a lot more. He was just in with a very good fighter who had a stylistic advantage. Everyone needs to relax. He's proven.....but he's like any other fighter....He has holes that can be exploited And some styles are a bad idea.

A chump that gave Matthysse his first legit loss?

What does that say about Lucas?

Bad night... Garcia took over in the middle rounds as the swelling became too severe, still a close fight though.... Especially if you take the illegal KD away. Matthysse definitely beats him in a rematch.

Garcia won't take the rematch though.. The only man he's rematched was old shot to bits Morales who gave him absolute hell in the first fight. The difference in class was clear, but Morales was just too old...

Pretty convenient to dismiss it as a bad night.

No chump beats a prime Matthysse like that.

He's no chump, definitely a tough guy... But he's definitely limited, and more or less figured out at this point.

Styles make fights guys.....Danny is an overachiever......he's not working with an insane amount of talent like a Floyd or Manny, but he's reached the highest levels of the sport. He has very solid skills and he's got a great left hook. The experience he's getting fighting the absolute best can't be a bad thing.....he's young and will only get better so long as he doesn't take a lot of punishment in the next few years.

Some of you fans drive a really hard bargain.

He has taken a fair amount of punishment already. He seems to go through the wars in every fight.

I agree though, let Danny be. He has done very well, far from a chump.

If hes such a chump why not fight him yourself? Hes a very good entertaining fighter to watch. Will be fun to watch what he can do at ww. I dont think he can beat any of the top notch guys but he will make it entertaining.

some fans (if they can be called that) are way off man. DSG is still a very good fighter as is Peterson, Peterson is very sickeningly under rated on here. he has top notch skills, dude can fight, can box and has a good enough chin to never rule him out against anyone around his weight.

I believe the matty fight is the best case scenario for any loss we had seen lately. he got caught up in a fire fight and caught with the perfect matty shot and just couldn't recover quickly enough.

the DSG fight showed that he learned he has to be smart in there, and when in with massive bangers its most important to take some of their zip away before putting yourself out there for dangerous shots. even though he should had attempted to do a little more in the first 3 rounds to steal on his game plan was the right one.

he was the much stronger fighter going down the stretch, him and his team thought with how strong and in shape he was that he was going to stop DSG inside the distance but, DSG proved more than anything he ever proved prior he is one tough mofo with a solid solid chin.

I picked Peterson to win a dec and I believe he did more than enough to win but I didn't really score it round by round so I cant say for sure how I did or will score it when I do get the chance.

I have no idea where either goes from here. Peterson his high risk low reward as it is. with dsg opting to move on from Herrera I don't see him taking on Peterson. who does he go after at 147 ? they both have to go to WW. cant be 165 on fight night and expect to go back and try to compete at 140.

dudes are BIG ww's. if I was dsg, I would go directly at Herrera at 147 then go after Peterson. if he did that and won, he would gain so many fans it'd be crazy for him. then he could take on Floyd for his final fight. we'll see what he plans
