It's funny people give Matthysse stick because he had a bit of trouble with Zab when it was his first big fight and tried to outbox Zab for the first 8 rounds then started fighting and it worked, but when Garcia has trouble with some old corpse Morales no one says ****, i actually thought Garcia was gonna quit until he knocked Morales down They've both improved loads but people are too biased on here
If Garcia didnt have that left hook id pick alot of people to beat him, hes just got that game changer and he's always looking for it now He's exciting though ill give him that
overrated in that most guys who are hit with his left made a sloppy mistake to get hit and are hit when they are not expecting it. He does not have a Frazier or Tua kind of left hook..
Garcia punches with opponents extremely well. One of the best at that among any current boxer in fact. His defense is okay. His offense is okay. His prayer left hook is other-worldly. Step 1) Direct face toward canvas Step 2) Close eyes Step 3) Throw Left Hook with as much power as possible in direction of opponent Step 4) Pray that Left Hook contacts opponent Step 5) Profit ???
Seems to me Swifty is pretty good, for instance he did what Maidana and Mathyse have failed to do in their oppurtunities. I will cut Mathyse a huss as he was robbed vs Alexander, and Judah but hey he let it go to the judges. MAIDANA made 74 yr old Morales look like Willie Pep. He also just missed taking Kahn out. Here comes Garcia and he smashed both Morales and Kahn to be where he is. My take is the kid has a little something special how special? I believe th Judah fight will show wher swift is really at.
Yes, knocking out a glass jawed Khan and a shot Morales is not as impressive as some want to believe. Garcia is average at everything and will lose sooner than later.
I don't think so, but if so, only a little. He can really crack and his style of baiting an opponent so he can throw looped shots over the top as he slips inward really focuses on delivery of that power. Plus, Khan is wobbled and dropped by punchers, but really only punchers. Prescott, Maidana.
the guy has great timing and is very strong and heavy handed. danny was behing to deconstruct Khan before that left landed and it was only a matter of time. that HBO commentating on that fight was a disgrace.
his left hook is a little above average, but he doesn't have much else. Just the counter left. I think Judah has a chance, more than Judah would have a chance against anyone. If Judah cannot beat Garcia he should think about retiring.
I don't think very many people think he has elite or even very good power. His power might be improving since his last two wins featured dramatically awesome KD's, but they were against fighters who were either 35 and far removed from prime weight or a guy with a known poor chin.
