Is Danny Jacobs a real world champion who deserves better than 25/75 against GGG?

Fact is GGG is the man at 160 with 3 of the 4 belts Lemieux had 1 of those belts so he got 43% because GGG wanted his belt. Jacobs has the 2nd tier belt so he has no bargaining power though I would love to see GGG accept a 60-40 purse split because it's a fight I would like to see. But Jacobs isn't a marquee fighter(like Oscar was for example so he got the lions share of the purse against Hopkins though only having 1 belt)so he will have to take the short money if he thinks he can beat GGG then his bargaining power increases.

 

What exactly makes lineal title go vacant? Canelo can keep the Ring strap if he fights at 154.00001 until this may, and he probably will. GGG is the IBF&WBA&WBC champ now, he'll be the IBF&WBA&WBC champn if he beats Jacobs. He was the WBA champ before he beat Lemieux, he became the IBF&WBA champ after. It's pretty simple I think.

 

If GGG's team agreed to 60\40 all this came out public, most of the one-track minded haters would be accusing him of overpaying a glassjawed Pirog leftover to hype up the fight. And GGG is getting all the passes? Give me a ****ing break.a

 

Again, who else is he going to fight? He doesn't fight in a division with a lot of talent or have marquee names. BJS and Canelo aren't looking to fight him anytime soon and he doesn't seem to want to make concessions to fight talent from the divisions North and South. He'll end up finishing 2016 with a TKO win over unknown prospect Dominic Wade and looking extremely bad vs a WW belt holder.

Jacobs is the best opponent available and is asking for a reasonable share. He earned his position as the number 2 MW in the world and it's a fight people want to see.

 

I'm not too familiar with their system to be honest, it doesn't explain how Stevenson got stripped of the title despite being active and fighting a top 10 contender at least once a year. But the winner of GGG-Jacobs would have strong claim of being the lineal/unified champ, unless Canelo fights BJS or Lemmy next.

That being said, who else is GGG gonna fight? Jacobs is the best opponent available, you think he deserves the same split Dominic Wade got? If he doesn't fight Jacobs and fights another bum he'll be ridiculed beyond belief.

 

That's true but you're supposing they're not trying to make the fight?K2 have for extensions as they don't want Jacobs getting 25% but it sounds like Jacobs is being impossible,quite rightly we don't know all the details as it only causes grief on places like here,there's a common factor with would be GGG opponents and Eubank jnr showed that even with the best possible deal they still drag their feet knowing there's limited time,it works the same way for Jacobs as well cause he called out GGG and it will look bad on he also if it don't get made?

 

GG is supposedly selling out these venues and has this big, so-called advantage over Jacobs ok. Being elevated to super champion i guess means you can earn 75-25. What is GG's career high purse for a fight? Just asking. And who was it against? What did GG earn against Lemieux? What was the purse split. I know Jacobs numbers are probably much lower. Hell what is Jacobs career high purse too while we're at it lol...

Or people may say G wants a top fighter in the division so he paid up to get the fight made! He can't have it both ways, complaining that no body wants to fight him and when an opportunity comes up, use his stature to get the big coin and won't relent even if it means the fight won't get made! I do understand that the sanctioning bodies are dictating the cut but, if G really wanted the scalp of a top guy in his division he could make a sacrifice.

 

Apparently K2 offered Jacobs a percentage in the 30s to try to make the fight, but Jacobs still said no.

 

A big question is what happens next for GGG? Best case is that BJS agrees to a fight, which would probably be a better fight than Jacobs. I can't think of many guys at MW that would be an interesting match. I just want him to hurry up and break B Hop's record so he can fight DeGale or Jack at 168 and even that is a fight I'd heavily favor GGG.

 

Then it appears that DJ is trying to price himself out of the fight! No way he should get more than 35%! You can't blame DJ! I would much rather take an a$$ whoopin for 5 mil than 2 mil! LOL

 

I think Stevenson got stripped because he hadn't fought anyone rated by the Ring for over a year. Canelo can keep his if he fights someone like Lemieux next.

If the alternative is another Dominic Wade, you're right, they should give Danny %40. But if someone like Andy Lee is ready to take his place, I wouldn't bother with Jacobs too much.

 

I forgot about Andy Lee. Heard a few noises on Twitter saying they may still look at a Dec date against him, which would be cool. But after that, I want Jacobs or Saunders for sure. For GGG that is, not me; I'd ice the pair of them.

 

Number 1 ranked contender vs the number 2 ranked contender.

Just agree a split and make the fight ffs.
