we know what andre rozier is close with andre ward and virgil....word is hunter is consulting with jacobs/rozier for this camp

we saw the trouble loma had with a dirty/muck it up vet like salido.....and of course we saw what ward was able to do against kovalev

now when i look at these EE fighters.....its hard to beat them when the fight is at an optimal range....one would argue its almost impossible to beat these guys if they can keep guys at their optimal range.....loma/kova/ggg are all strong guys...and they are all very good at putting their punches together in a fashion that makes them almost impossible to beat....

is dannys best chance, maybe only chance, to try to get inside without getting hit...and rough ggg up? make ggg exert energy he doesnt want to?

i think alot of these EE guys hate that kind of fight....i heard ggg suggest after the brook fight that brook "want to make it street fight"...now i saw nothing that suggested brook was doing anything dirty or trying to hug all night....save for a few moments......

i think these EE hate/despise that type of fight....and if you can make it dirty...rough...with some hugging...and maybe close distance to make it uncomfortable.....thats your best chance.....because beating these guys in a clean fight at an optimal range is difficult as hell and maybe next to impossible

"Salido/Ward blueprints" Why, because GGG is Eastern European? No his best chance is landing a good punch... Not winning a controversial decision.

Kovalev beat ward pretty fairly but ward wouldn't be wise to do this style against betrrbiev.

It was kovalevs superior jab and range that beat ward. So I suppose he had to try something

    NO.
Jacobs is not that kind of physical boxer, and I don't think he has it in him.
I think his best strategy is the one he used against Quillin. Jump on him fast and land a solid power punch to the jaw.
It worked before and it can work again.

well yes...because GGG is also EE...

i think that these EE fighters hate inside fighting...i think they despise it actually...like think its not really boxing or a part of boxing....i think they love fighting at ideal range...and all 3 are excellent at fighting at ideal range....damn near impossible to beat at it...they put their punches together well and are all strong......but loma and kova have been foiled by awkward veterans .....might be the best way to foil golovkin too....a little bit of everything with some dirty mugging and inside fighting......of course its not always easy to get in without getting tagged

Jacobs isn't nearly as good on the inside as Ward, and I think Golovkin knows better than Kovalev how to cope with inside fighters.

Jacobs' best chance is to be active and positive, attack Golovkin, and try to land some good punches while avoiding Golovkin's big shots.

well i would agree that jacobs hasnt been that type of physical boxer.....but he might need to be in order to beat golovkin.....it might take that kind of effort....

It might be a worthwhile strategy for a fighter who could carry it off, however, I've seen little from Jacobs thus far to suggest that this type of infighting, spoiling, mauling performance is within his skill set. Sometimes fighters surprise us but we can only judge off what we've seen so far.

Personally I don't think he can outbox GGG off the back foot for 12 either, given GGG's clever footwork and angles. His best chance is probably to go for a Hagler-Hearns type showing, guy can hit and maybe he can land the big one first. Or try and go for a Jones-Barrera type performance, try and establish his jab, use his reach and hope Golovkin walks into one.

i do agree...again...like Uppercut was saying....jacobs hasnt been a physical type of fighter...and he isnt as good as ward on the inside....but i think he NEEDS to be both...phyiscal and better on the inside.....i think it might make it a difficult fight for golovkin....if golovkin is expending energy he doesnt want to...it might make things better for jacobs......if he can take golovkin to a place hes never really been

and with ward/virgil possibly doing some consulting with jacobs for this camp...these might be some things that are implemented

thats kind of what im saying/thinking...i dont think he can outbox ggg for 12 rounds....these guys loma/kova/ggg are just strong and good at putting punches together....and like you said...ggg has good footwork and angles.....i think you need to make it a murky fight and wear ggg down..make him exert himself in ways he doesnt want to...make him waste energy doing things other than punching

I actually think he's talking sense by his usual standards. A lot of the Eastern European fighters stay amateur a long time and infighting/spoiling is not really all the rage in a lot of those tournaments. A lot of the top fighters from that part of the world are either consummate technicians or seek and destroy types.

im not sure how this post "wreaks" of my "usual agenda"...at all

im not talking down on ggg at all here...and have actually given out some nice compliments to him here.....im just talking strategy and ways to beat him...and pointing out how hunter/ward may have some influence in this camp for this fight

Shock has a point, in that I personally believe the only way to beat GGG is to fight him inside and up close. To push him back, and to crowd him. He's looked his least impressive at that range.

    But.

But Jacobs is not the man to do it. Whoever takes this route needs an iron chin and iron constitution to go with a big punch. We're talking Marvin Hagler, not Jacobs. GGG has still destroyed guys on the inside, and he loves going to the body and using short little uppercuts. Fighting at such close range deprives Jacobs of using his power to the fullest. If he tries this tactic he's going to lose, it's not for him.

I think Jacobs needs to come out full throttle and guns blazing. His only real chance is cracking Golovkin's chin, and jumping him straight away. Golovkin is a slow starter, he usually takes the first round to feel the other guy out and drops the hammer in rounds 2-3.

Jacobs could still lose a war. In fact, he probably will. But I like his chances better in a crapshoot than trying to box Golovkin. I can almost guarantee that GGG will box Jacobs, and feed him so many jabs he's going to get indigestion. Jacobs won't beat GGG in a boxing match.

He needs to bring his power to the party, and right away.
