How do you knockout an exceptionally great fighter like Ruben Olivares not far past his prime years if you yourself aren't to some degree a great fighter yourself?

I personally think Hafey is criminally underrated. Not a great fighter though, no.

Sometimes a fighter has a tremendous attribute, or attributes
that compensates for overall skills greatness.
That attribute can make a otherwise pedestrian fighter
great. Sometimes it's power, super human endurance,
or simple a will to win at all cost.
Marciano, Cuevas, and hell even Joe Frazier and
Henry Armstrong are excellent examples of this.
Danny Lopez defended his championship at
least ten times in a very good era of featherweights .
In a time when being undefeated wasn't as important
as who you fought and beat.
Was Lopez on the level of a Saddler, Pep, Armstrong,
Saldivar , Ramos , Sanchez, Pedroza , Arguello or Nelson.?
    No of course not.
But I like his chances against quite a few others
that held a version of the featherweight championship
and especially some of the overrated , pampered and protected
fighters of the last twenty years or so.
