HW can not move up so that comparison is not relevant Consistency, AJ made how many world title defences in a row? And the resume of Benavidez is not as good as either of the fighters you mentioned
Joshua never proved himself the best heavyweight in the world so the title defenses argument is meaningless. What was he defending exactly? Not a claim to lineage which he never held.
Joshua got kayoed by Ruiz and Dubois was stopped by Joyce neither of whom are in the same stratosphere as Bivol in regards to resume greatness or anything else I might even favor Bivol over Ruiz H2H despite the size gap.
So at the time who was the best HW on the world? Wilder? Fury? Fat Fury who was well off the pace And regardless of your opinions in the world title defended, that wasn't part of the debate You mentioned consistency, which is what AJ delivered Liniage is just some thing people choose to credit a fighter when if suits them The idea of it is great but people argue about who broke what lineage ect far to often for me to care I mean also if your using that term, did Benavidez ever prove himself the number 1 in any division? No he didn't As for the belt AJ defending being meaningless, it's funny how 99 per cent of fighters aspire to hold such a title because it brings money Crazy how something that's "unimportant" can generate such finances
How can we have career LHW Bivol weighing between 180-184 at LHW and SMW Benavidez weighing at least 185 at SMW and 189 for his official LHW debut and 196 for his 2nd fight at the weight? As said, 196 is the 2nd highest fight night weight for a LHW I've ever heard of and Benavidez said himself after that fight that he ''thinks'' that's the heaviest his weighed for a fight before, meaning that he'd come in roughly about that much before he'd moved up to LHW Becoming a multiple weight champion when you're a massive weight bully is not the same, near as difficult, impressive or risky as it is when average or smaller sized fighters do so because one is actually fighting opponents bigger, much or way bigger than them when they move up in weight and the others are fighting opponents they're still much bigger than, bigger or roughly the same size as even in their 3rd, 4th or 5th divisions and when they actually do start fighting opponents their own size their fans act like they've just run a sub 5 second 100m and when they actually beat someone bigger than them they act like they've run a sub 2 second 100m This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
When it comes to this aspect, Benavidez is a total Bitaccch Somebody needs to give him a nudge and remind him PBC are practically dead
Thing is I think he's good enough and probably would fight Bivol and Jai in Saudi, Australia (for Jai) or somewhere else. However, I really don't like this sense of entitlement. Bivol is the #1 at LHW and Jai is #1 at CW, if you want their ranking and belts go take them off of them in their backyards or in neutral Saudi And why in God's name would any fighter from former Soviet states want to fight an American champ or star in the US when they stack the deck with home refs and judges damn near all the time over there and rob them time and time again?
Only in your mind is a victory over Zurdo Ramirez better than a victory over Anthony Joshua. But in consolation, being in a minority of one doesn't necessarily mean you're wrong.
We can't be sure who the best was because they didn't fight each other. Prior to Usyk moving up I would say it was between Fury, Joshua, Kabayel and Hrgovic. I would probably favor Dubois over Joshua post Ruiz. 2016 and 2017 is probably when Joshua has the strongest argument.
Most of Joshua's wins are over guys who were well past it where we have no idea how much they had left. That's not good. You also have embarrassing losses to Dubois and Ruiz where the manner of the defeat made things even worse.
So no HW went on to prove it yeah? Which makes your claim about AJ daft Prior to Uysk moving up you had Kabayel possibly as number 1? BS show me proof you actually had that opinion before Uysk activated the HW mandatory option Not many people had a high opinion of him which is why when it was strongly rumored Fury was going to fight him whilst ranked 15th it was crapped on Anyway if you genuinely think Benavidez has currently a better resume that AJ, you do you as I'm lost for words
Fighters lose, that's pretty much inevitable when you try to fight often as AJ did The Ruiz fight he rematched and won Not the prettiest of wins but job done And the fighters you claim are old were the mandatories to his belts That's not really his fault is it, at least he took them on Embarrassing loses to a point sure, but takes like this are why boxers are reluctant to fight anyone and everyone A lose or two and a fighter is supposedly finished The Dubois loss probably did signal the end of AJ as a contender but obviously you would have preferred him to rematch him and lose again so you can continue to say how bad he was or is AJ isn't the best ever, not even the best in the last decade but some takes on him are so ridiculous it begs belief
