Is David Benavidez overrated?

Talk of him going up to HW and immediately fighting Usyk is being entertained..........................One of the 5 absolute greatest fighters of the last 20 years...................I dunno, is that being overrated?

Almost as bad as when a certain contingent was saying that Golovkin could knock out HW's................

 

I consider Benavidez to be a LHW, so it's unclear how he'd do against a top CW (Zurdo sucks).

Beating faded Beterbiev is certainly possible. He's old and has a lot of wear/injuries from a long amateur career. Bivol being able to flurry and get the best of exchanges in the second fight leads me to believe that Benavidez can pull it off, I'd say it's 60-40. Prime for prime Beterbiev beats everyone ever at LHW.

The Bivol fight is one of the best fights to make in boxing. Both guys punch in combination, both throw combinations as counters. Bivol standing up to Beterbiev in the first fight, despite wilting a bit, was impressive. Right now I'd favor Bivol 60-40. His footwork is better, hand speed similar, chin similar. Benavidez has a power and offensive arsenal advantage.

 

Given all the guys he missed out on fighting though his losses don't look good.

Excluding Wilder and Fury he missed out lots of dangerous opponents like Kabayel, Hrgovic, Itauma, Joyce, Miller etc. He also didn't fight very often.
Surely there would be the potential for more losses if he was more active and facing more young prime opponents.

As far as Dubois goes how about not losing to him to begin with. No need for a rematch then.
