A poster has made the comment that Haye is an All Time Top 5 Cruiser Weight...what say you ESB...???...it shouldn't be too hard to figure out, since he has actually done something in the division.

    Name 5 better.

It's a relatively new and very poor weight class, so yes.

If it had more depth, I mean if it was around longer and the likes of Marciano, Charles, Langford etc fought there then no, of course not.

considering what he and other cruisers have done he is top 5
remember you should not account for any heavyweight success
    only cruiserweight record!

Holyfield, Qawi, Toney, and probably Jirov and Gomez are above him.You could argue the case for DeLeon.

Hard to say really, he didn't stay there for very long in championship class. Holyfield has to be number 1, Gomez should be above him based on length of reign if nothing else, you could certainly make a good argument for Mormeck being above him too even though Haye beat him, as Mormeck was unified champion for a fair while. In terms of talent i would place him in the top 5, in terms of achievement it is far less clear cut.

Probley. Having said that it is a new and always has been largely ignored division. Anyone any good tends to chase the money at heavy weight instead.

Jean Marc Mormeck achievments at the weight are better then Hayes even though Haye did beat a gasing 35 year old version.

    Toney is perhaps better...

    Holyfield..

There is a long list of cruisers, with longer title reigns then Haye...

In reality Hayes achievements so far are beating a 35 year old who was in possession of two belts.... that's it! Oh he then made one defence against Enzo Mac who was perhaps a top 5 to 10 guy at the time.

Hell no. Holyfield is the best ever and Haye needs to stop riding his coat tails it nasty. Toney would have also spanked his ass.

jirov what the hell has he done? did he unify the division
toney i think you havent got the idea, we dont look at there overall record in different weight classes you just look at what they achieved at CRUISERWEIGHT
David Haye is clearly top 3

you need to see the dominance he has at the weight right now
there is no cruiserweight right now who could beat him if he is not weight drained

Haye beat an ageing Mormeck picking up two belts in the process. What else has he ever done of note?

What about Tiozzo...???...he is not as accomplished as Haye in cruiser...???...not the scariest fighter in the world, and I don't know a lot about French boxing, but he actually held the belt for a few years and made title defenses.

How do fans of the CWs rank Tiozzo...???

I think we should remember that Haye beat Mormeck then Mac...and the he left. He wasn't even there long enough for anyone to get him in their sights, or to defend the belts.

He unified the division with the exception of one belt - however the cruiserweight division was unified in the previous two years by other fighters as well.

If he had stayed at cruiserweight and carved out a legacy - this would be easier to answer. For now (cruiserweight) Haye falls into the category of what might have been.

I don't blame him for moving to heavyweight. That's where the paydays are.
