WTF are you talking about ?
I know all about Hide, I've been following heavyweight boxing for almost 30 years, and I have my own opinion on how Haye and Hide compare. I think they are equal, on a par with one another.
    As I've already said.
Where the hell did you get the idea that I'm saying Hide is better ?

If you want to talk about Hide's record, go ahead.
His accomplishments are weak. He beat Michael Bentt and a washed-up Tony Tucker, and fringe guys like Willi Fischer and Craig Peterson, and a ton of tomato cans. He held a bogus WBO title. He had no chin, he has fast hands and power. He wasn't much good. I think most here would agree with that.
Again, how are Haye's accomplishments much better ?

It's not that I "don't like Haye". Of course i don't like Haye, who does ? he's a twat. But that has nothing to do with his heavyweight accomplishments. Let's discuss what the **** has he done at heavyweight ?

Now, tell me, have you got anything worthwhile to contribute to the Hide-Haye comparison, or are you just scared to confront the reality that SO FAR he's a complete hype job ?

    :hey

I'll wrap my head around it IF it happens, thanks. :good
    It's very very unlikely. :D

ok...you've looked up hide's record. cool. now we can have a proper discussion. :D

so which one of hide's great wins is better tha valuev or ruiz (who...no matter how little you rate them are miles ahead of glass jawed pretender bentt & shot to **** tony tucker).

you may not rate haye's opposition; but which of his losses is as embarassing as getting battered from pillar to post & then sparked by an actual bum in chingangu?

tbh just watching both of them fight should be enough to tell you who is better. but if you're going to get into records (which you are)...it is ****ing obvious which one is superior. read back your own post. hide's best wins are bentt & shot to **** tucker ffs. you may not rate haye but he's beaten a **** of a lot better than that...if you're going to give me that crap about how haye only faces "bums" then look at hide's oppo...it's a joke; it always was & it still is. & not a joke in the "hardcore boxing fans can see through the crap" kinda way. it's a joke in the "what the **** are damon reed & willi fischer doing in title matches" kinda way. which is a **** of a lot worse.

Obviously there's not much difference in their achievements at heavyweight. I can't see that changing on July 2nd either.

How would Bruno (even the 95 version that got TKO'ed again by Tyson) do against Hide and Haye

Fair enough, at least you're now offering reasons why Haye's better than Hide. :good
I mostly accept your points have some merit, but even if Haye's better it's not by much.

You can say washed-up Ruiz and Valuev (who grandaddy Holyfield can beat) are much better than Bentt and shot-to-**** Tucker (I don't think it's that much, tbh) .... but Hide destroyed both of them more impressively than Haye's performances.
Bentt was coming off a good win against Morrison.

Also, Haye's record is a joke in the "what the **** is Audley Harrison doing in a title match" kinda way.

You have to consider : when did Ruiz last beat a real top fighter ? - and how good was he anyway 10 years earlier when he was in his prime ?
How **** does a fighter have to be to need a bad decision to get past a 46 year old Holyfield ?
    Seriously.

You really want to argue that such men are miles better than the has-beens and fringe fighters who Hide beat ?
It's a narrow edge to Haye.

Looking at Haye and Hide, there's not much in it. Both fast hands and decent power, but sloppy defense and no punch resistance.

so in 4 fights at hw vs 39 fights at hw there is not much in it...& haye probably has the edge...

while in 14 fights vs 22 at cw haye has the advantage by a massive gulf.

so long as we agree. :good

    if thats your opinion...cool. :thumbsup

valuev & ruiz may not be world beaters but very few guys have looked good against them. ruiz actually looked pretty good beating up that tucker btw...& he wasn't an attacking fighter like hide.

    :yep

seriously tho...fraudley was euro champ, coming off a prizefighter win...pushed for heavily by sky & a fight that made a lot of money. eevryone knew it was a joke...even haye; who said he didn't want the fight & told everyone what a joke it was all through the build-up...but he was a better title challenger than damon reed & willi fischer...who hide must have made peanuts fighting. harrison was a **** fight...but at least it made sense on some levels.

& i still think they are better opposition than tucker & bentt were for hide.

39 fights vs 4 fights & haye's record is still better. says it all.

    honestly?

i know i know. if haye was facing guys on the level of chingangu then his defence & punch resistance would be under more pressure...the we'd see what he's really made of.

I can now say Haye's chin is better than Hide's.

I think Hide would have at least come to fight though, and tried to back up his words.

    Haye's an embarrassment.

Haye might as well put his running shoes on yesterday.

At least Hide tried and went down fighting against Bowe.

Hide went out on his shield in his losses. How times was Hide down against Bowe? And Hide still kept trying. Haye didnt even show up to his biggest fight then whinned about his pinky toe.

Hide deserves respect as a fighter. Haye is a disgrace and does not. Haye conned the public.

Yeah, I don't think Hide would have lasted the distance with Wladimir Klitschko, not in a million years.
He would have come to fight though.

Herbie Hide, lack of chin, no stamina, whatever, was still everything Haye pretends to be - a warrior, a small guy who came to fight, and guy who might go down from a light tap but he'd be in there throwing punches and putting it all on the line.
Hide deserves respect for giving it a go.

What is this supposed to mean? R u so frustrated with David's attempt to compare him with a guy who was knocked down more times than rounds that there were against Riddick bowe and wipped out in two by Wladimir's brother?

This thread is several days old.

In light of last night's fight, I think Haye is a better spoiler and more durable than Hide.
He's far less of a warrior, he lacks Hide's fighting heart obviously. And he suffers from hurt little toe.

I still think they are about equal. :good
