Is David Haye going to be another Jeff Lacy letdown?

Again, Haye is nothing at Heavyweight...lacy had a belt going into the fight with Calzaghe. Yes he was the undisputed Cruiserweight champ...hooray. But, being the champ at the cruiser level usually doesn't transcend to the heavyweight level.

Think for a second...if a certain fighter was good enough to compete at the heavyweight level, why wouldn't he just start there? There's reason most fighters at cruiser don't do well in the biggest division in boxing. There don't have the natural physical advantages that the bigger men do.

Think...how many cruiserweights go on to do anything of significance in the Heavyweight division?

How many can you name other than Holyfield?

Gomez was a cruiserweight champion and had over 300 amateur fights, he is much better than Haye.

Haye started out as a cruiser and he wasn't big enough then to be a HW.Over the years he grew into the weight until it became hard for him to make weight for the Mormeck and Maccarineli fights. That is clear to see.Now he is a HW-too big for cruiser=HW.Thats why he started at cruiser nothing to do with being good enough to compete there.

oh my goodness...i was kidding, for pete's sake. I even posted the laughing emoticon beside my post...man get a grip.

But, I do think that Adamek would give Haye an extremely tough fight and maybe even get a victory if they ever fought at cruiser or Heavyweight.

I would actually rather see that fight than the Klitschko fight to be honest with you. Haye simply isn't ready for this kind of jump in class.

I could understand a 'Haye was exposed by Thompson' theory if Haye had got gassed in subsequent fights, or none of his fights had lasted as long again, but he's had 4 fights since the Thompson fight that lasted longer.

He got gassed and started training to last longer, how is that exposed?

You weren't kidding quit trying to cover yourself now.:-(
Talking of physical advantages,Haye would have one over Adamek at whatever weight and I think he would stop him inside 6.If he beat Adamek,I can't believe you'd think he would be ready for Wlad after that fight and not now.It wouldn't prove that much in my eyes

Dude, that doesn't mean a thing...if you win two belts by beating two turds, what does that make you...

    the undisputed turd...that doesn't mean you're a proven fighter.

Exposed... as in his limitations when it comes to his stamina and durability where exposed against Thompson.

And really there hasnt been a fight to disprove he still has these limitations.

Haye may well beat Wlad...His speed, explosiveness, power and athleticism could see him knock of Klit.

But Haye will get beaten again...probably quite soon and probably against someone not that good. Just a bigger man who can outlast him, mark my words. But he also posseses to ability to beat high ranked fighters in the division and thats why Im going to keep an eye on him. Because whether it goes well for him or not, it will be fun.

Because he is yet to pushed that hard since.

Haye fans made a big deal about him going 12 with Abdoul but he threw like 9 punches a round.
Mormeck has very dire stamina issues of his own and often his gameplan is to creep forward with his hands under his chin just walking the other guy down. He is not a high volume puncher at all.

Haye has problems with stamina...fighters with his physique quite often do. As I said mark my words the issues will rear their head again. I would love to see him work them out, I like Haye, win or lose I like watching Haye but I dont think they will be worked out, some fighters just dont have that natural stamina.

    Fragomenni (9th round KO)?
    Abdoul (12 round UD)?
    Moemeck(7th round KO)?
    Johansen(8th round KO)?

Didn't seem to be gassed by the 5th in any of them.

He gassed and lost and it hasn't happened since.People say he was blowing against Barrett but how can they prove this?He has improved his stamina since the loss no question and there has been no repeats

I'm not kidding when I say I think Adamek would have a pretty good shot at beating Haye...but I seriously didn't and don't think that haye was ducking Adamek...i was probably just having fun with one of Haye's many fans on this forum.

Dude...you are lost...I never said that he would be ready for Wlad after a fight with Adamek...

i said I would much rather see that fight because Haye isn't ready for Wlad.

    Do you see the difference?:silly

So you're saying he should fight Adamek and a win still wouldn't see him ready for Wlad?I see but I just don't agree. He is as ready as he ever will be.If he isn't ready now I don't think he ever will be
