He's def not out of his depth. He has all the tools to beat Wlad. Skill wise I dont think wlad is any better then Haye. Haye is faster, hits as hard or harder, has better footwork, slicker , lot less predictable then Wlad is.

Wlad is a jabbing robot with a right hand . All he knows how to do is beat up fat tomato cans half his size. If Haye actually turns up and shows some balls he can explode on Wlad and put his lights out. It really all depends on Haye, and what kind of mentality he brings to the ring. He can't be lazy like he's been against some of his past opponents.

No actually they are just big lumps. When you outweigh, and outsize your opponents you do not need to be blessed with great technical ability. They are good, well schooled but their technical ability isn't what is the main attribute, it's the size and strength.

Saying that, they are a damn sight more technical than Valuev.

Not sure i guess we will see on fight night. Regardless of how good either man is historically, they are both clearly two of the best Heavyweights today and possibly of the last 5-10 years.

Haye will train hard and does plan on winning , more than most of either Klits opponents.
I am looking forwards to it.

You disagree? When I hear fitness, I automatically think of stamina...you disagree now?

There's no doubting he turns up in shape...but stamina-wise, the effort he puts into the majority of punches...is he really tested over 12?

Wlad has a jab, stright right, and left hook that are all considered to be within the top ten best of any heavyweight.

The way he can hook off his jab, and even double or triple up that hook is better than just good.

Wlad's footwork, movement, ring generalship and timing are extremely good.

You could try to say that he isn't good at fighting inside, but that isn't true either. He chooses not to do it so he can clinch (he is also very good at clinching, but that doesn't get people into ATG lists) and protect himself.
That a stylistic and strategic choice, not a lack of ability.

About the only thing Wlad actually isn't good at is uppercuts.

Saying that he just has size and no real skill is pretty ignorant.

To anyone that doubts the Klitschkos skills and consider them limited, watch some early Wlad fights. His style has changed, but the ability is still there

Haye did well rocking that giant of a boxer whatever his name and others surely Haye will be ready to handle the pressure when it comes to fight night against Vitali.. like Muhammed Ali vs Foreman/Frazier. But thats just my opinion.:bbb

Sounds to me like your underrating Wlad.

The reason they dont beat these guys up quickly, take chances against them, is what makes them so effective, they maintain their advantages, and have the discipline to implement their game plan on you. Wlad wont do what you want him to do, and he doesn't care if the fight becomes a boring spectacle because he wont oblige you, long as he gets you doing what he wants you to do instead.

Hopkins, Maweather, Wlad, all have one thing in common, they are extremely disciplined, to the point where they dont care how boring the fight becomes as a spectacle, long as they get you fighting their fight because they wont oblige you in the fight you want them to fight to make you more effective.

Valuev? come on fella, his footspeed allows people to move around him and potshot, and his handspeed is just as bad.

I dont think it matters what variety of punches Wlad throws, whats more important, is his decision making process, the times when he decides to put things out there, the chances he takes when throwing those punches, and unluckily for Haye, Wlad had excellent discipline not to take chances that extend him to being countered, and he doesn't make it easy by putting things out there that can be timed and countered, as he has a good decision making process, which is probably why skilled fighters like Byrd, who has a good manipulation of mid range, could not sit in the pocket against him, draw mistakes, and counter him without getting knocked out himself.

Can we please stop using Valuev as a valid reference point on how well Haye will perform against either Klitschko?

Haye's in, over his head in my most humble opinion. You can't prepare for Wlad by fighting the likes of Valuev, Harrison, and Ruiz. This is a cash out fight, come in throwing some early bombs. And Haye's just hoping Wlad's chin is really as weak as led to believe. But it's going to take more than one knock down, to finish Wlad. And Steelhammer's defence is going to be greatly underestimated...

Apart from him gassing out (punched himself out!) against Carl Thompson in his only loss I dont really think he has stamina issues at all really. Sure his fights havent gone long mostly because his opponents couldnt hang in there for the 12 distance! But Hayes conditioning/fitness should be without question. His physique isnt that of a sloutch! He doesn't do much if any road work...as I recall he said in a video interview not too long ago...but he trains for 12 intense 3 minute rounds like you actually encounter in a boxing ring. So is always prepared to go the distance if his opponent can hang in there with him for that time!

Now gettin back onto topic...I think Haye is as live an opponent as the Klits have faced in many a year. Hes a world champion at cruiserweight and heavyweight so has clear pedigree. But sure he's not stuck around in the cruiser division long enough to show he was head n shoulders as he was in a hurry to step up to heavy...I guess for bigger money fights! I'd agree he's untested at heavyweight and does have a questionable chin. If either Klit catches him flush I think he's out of there.
I think Haye has a better chance than previous opponents...but still see him as the underdog.

I also fear this fight could be a massive let down and not live up to the hype that Hayes mouth has made of this fight. I think also he'll be facing Vitali in june/july....for reasons already stated in previous threads. Will hav to wait n see if i'm right or wrong on this one though.

I do see him fighting scared ala vs SNV! I'm hoping he fights brave (but wisely) and isnt too gunshy...but again time will tell. Haye definately fancies his chances more vs Wlad than Vitali that much is clear.
