Is David Haye the signature fight that Wlad has been looking for?

I respect your opinion. But we do disagree on this one. Wald to me is more of a thinker in the ring...similar to Floyd. He'll calculate risk and he'll throw the occaisional right only when it has high percentages of landing. you'll see Wald Jab an entire fight unwilling to let the right hand go if his oppoent has a tight defense. Vit on the other hand is one that tries to create opening with a wide array of punches....it leaves him more open but his height advantage allows him to avoid punches from shorter or less lengthy fighters.

And your last statement is true....WALD's style before was an offensive demolition post Knock out. He "USE" to let his hands go in flurries which was why I was a big Wald supporter and fan. But it's evident that since his KO loss Wald's style has changed. It still works for him but to me...it's less exciting. But LL's style wasn't exciting to me either however...he still was getting wins and he still proved to be one of the best HW's of all time.

I think so, and I believe that most boxing fans who have actually seen the Haye fight and realise his talent, speed, movement, bravery and power, would think so. However, a lot of people who just enjoy trashing quality fighters - like any fighter, Haye has weaknesses - will dismiss whoever wins the fight as fighting someone who is *sigh* exposed.

At the moment, Wlad's signature opponents could easily be Brewster, given how well he performed in the second fight, or Byrd, who is a fighter who really was undersized. To my mind, Haye is clearly at a far higher level

THAT is the point of my comment. One recent HW fight and not a top guy and people have him poised to take over. Only his mouth has earned him a shot.

Now that would really make sense, which means it won't happen.

Haye doens't use lateral movement enough to cause Wald that many problems bro. David is a straight fwd fighter who has a decent jab and good Defense. But he's in no way a Slick boxer. He's very conventional and orthodox which won't be anything new for Wald. The speed and power will have to be a factor in order to beat Wald b/c his skills are not that much more diversified than that of Wald....even though Wald is pretty predictable with the Jab.

His mouth may have earned him a shot a subsequently earned him alot of $$$ good business in my eyes.
You will call me biased but in my eyes he is the only threat to Wlad at this point maybe Povetkin is in that category also.
Who would you like to see DH in with next and how many fights do you think he should have before earning his shot?

It could be his most hyped fight but if haye lost convincingly he would probably just retire and try his hand at MMA and promotion.

I don't think it is unreasonable to have to beat a top 5 to earn a shot, especially when you are new to a division. Boxing is a dangerous sport. Working your way up helps prevent mismatches and injuries. I'm not picking a favorite in this fight. I'm just not saying Haye's publicity machine(mouth) should let him leap frog others.

Wlad was throwing leaping left hook leads against Rahman. There aren't too many leads that are more dangerous than that. He actually throws them in every fight.

And isn't that a sad statement? Shouldn't he earn it in the ring?

LOL, Widdowmaker, just face the fact. He's a VERY boring fighter. He's a solid fighter, but sometimes in his Ibragimov fight, he was literally pawing at him :(

Bourne out by his one win at heavy weight over a low level opponent?

If he wins, I was wrong and you were right. I guess we may find out.
