Is David Haye the signature fight that Wlad has been looking for?

It's a fair comment, in an ideal world. But the HW division is far from ideal, I don't see a scenario that says its ok for a 46 year old shot-to-pieces legend, who hasn't done anything, or beat anyone of note for years, and has-been, never-was washed up Rahman to get title shots, but a young, hungry, undisputed crusierweight champion in Haye, shouldn't? what kind of ****ed up logic is that? :huh

You act like I am claiming an Iron Chinned fighter has a Glass Jaw. Haye has basically ADMITTED he has a Glass Jaw.

If we were talking about a fighter with a solid Chin I would understand your complaint. But we are not. We are discussing David Haye who most any non nuthugger here will agree that he does in fact have a Glass Jaw.

Either way I will give Haye credit for one thing he has basically talked his way to the front of the line for a shot at the Unified Titles and a big pay day.

    :good

I think Povetkin has done good to earn his shot.

I think there's quite a few good examples actually.

both your fellow weak chin alliance suppoorters have admitted that haye doesn't have a glass jaw perhapos you should learn abit before you come back. He is in the shakey chin category which is above glass jaw and about 56 levels above amir kahn.

He did look like he was confident and opened up a bit more with Rock...but I also believe that had to do with whom he was in there with. Normally Wald doesn't do lead hooks....everything for wald is worked off by the jab and he has a great one. Wald doesn't usually throw a Lead hook...he jabs and hooks off the jab if he does that and I haven't seen that too often from him within the last 4 yrs or so. He use to throw the jab and hook off it better than any HW in recent memory but again...I think a lot of that has changed.

povetkin hasn't really fought many good fighters, he and gomez should be ahead of haye for a shot though.

Yeah, two more quality opponents would do it for him. My point is, if he is what he say he is, then those two would surely only be bums for him, wouldn't they? So he would shine whilst getting rid of his opposition, and then getting a shot at Wladimir or Vitali whilst being seasoned.

I just think he's opening his mouth for the one true reason, he is not what he claim he is.

im on the fence about povetkin even fighting wlad. he gets hurt once, now they want more time....wouldn't be surprised to see them go the wba route now

sauerland boxers seem to want nothing to do with wlad :yep

You don't become the undisputed champion of any division if you have a glass jaw to the extent which you seem to be suggesting. If we accept the point that Haye is glass jawed, then we have to include Wladimir in that category as well - he has been KO'd by more Bums that Haye ever will! You also said that Naseem Hamed had a glass jaw, a man who only ever lost one fight... on points.

I don't think his jaw is glass, though it is very shalky for an elite boxer.

If Wlad wins, you won't hear any excuses from me. I believe Haye has the talent, and I believe this fight will prove it. If he loses, it's still a great career: in 24 fights he'll have won three world titles in one division, been a title challenger in another, and created a lot of chat in the boxing world.

Also, if Wlad wins, I would acknowledge him as being a far, far better boxer than I currently believe him to be.

I've watched Haye since the 2001 world ams, when Richie Woodhall said on telly: "we all know about David Haye." Then I saw him fight in the first round, and knew he would be a world title holder one day. he's done that, and I believe there's more to come.

My big fears are simply his chin, and that he could fall in love with his power. Lennox, for my money, is the biggest punching hw of the past 30 years, but he concentrated on his skills, which meant he could always adapt in tough fights. Haye is a more fluid boxer than Lennox, so i would be a great shame if he neglected his combinations and movement for simple power punching.

The only fighter I ever made excuses for when he lost was Lennox, but that was because I knew just how briliant a boxer he was.

btw, whoever said Haye lacks good lateral movement needs to watch at least three or four of his fights since the Thompson debacle.

but what to quality fighters, the only people i would be half intrested in are valeuv, chageav, povetkin, ibragimov, thompson, gomez and most of them are either mia or have other comitments

im on the fence regarding his jaw. it may be glass or just shaky. Barrett dropped him with either very wide glancing blows or slight push. that's not really a good sign imo. he never looked hurt but off balance quite a bit.

we'll find out for sure in June :happy

This Kirkland guy who is undefeated has called for Haye, it would be ace for Haye to shut his trap. Then he could fight someone like Gomez or Peter in a title eliminator.

Those are the things I would be looking for if I was Haye.
