I find it hilarious that you leave out his best win in Adamek who is currently the man at CW...pathetic.

Yes, there is a rematch clause that Tarver is enforcing.

He's beaten two weight champ Adamek and he's beaten two of the best 175 in Johnson and Tarver. He is WBC, IBF and IBO champ. Is also undefeated. Of course he is proven.

He should fight Hopkins or rematch Johnson...
Then he gets a shot at the champ

jumping in here on page 4 not having read the thread yet.

    IMO dawson is well proven.

he might not be well supported , but he has definatley done enough to go in with anyone in and around light heavy.

The man has beaten four former or current champions including one of the current reigning cruiserweight champions and he's not proven?

    Give me a ****ing break.

You gotta be thick as a brick to think otherwise.

There is no champ at LHW.

Playing musical chairs with the ring belt all while NOT GIVING the young guns a crack at it doesnt make you champ.(Joe and Bernard).

Right now Chad is proving to be more worthy of the title as being called Champ than Joe and Bernard ever did(you have to fight all commers not just past there prime guys with a name or take fight's at a catchweight against jr MW and MW's).

Dawson has proven himself to be inconsistent and unreliable. It was surprising to watch him give Adamek a boxing lesson, and it was even more surprising to see him perform poorly against Johnson and then claim the fight went according to plan. He ducks a mandatory against the young and hungry Diaconu, which would have given him a bigger paycheck than his own promoter was willing to give him, in favour of a fight against the old and overrated Tarver. Now Dawson is calling out Calzaghe. Is it a surprise that Calzaghe isn't interested?

a win over tarver gives a fighter a lot more rep than a win over diaconu.

taking the tarver fight shows that he's serious about his career and not just interested in what the governing bodies think he should be fighting.

you should be giving him credit for that choice.

    good point.

either that or he calls them out from wales when he isnt worthy himself but fights them once they are faded and over 40 just so he can build himself up.

the greatest fighter who never fought a proven world class fighter in his prime.....
