Weight drained in boxing basically refers to boxers trying to beat a certain weight within a period of 1 or 2 days thus ending up dehaydrated.

ODLH was at 145-147 pounds several weeks to almost a month prior to the Pac fight.

I believe that the weight was not the issue. Since he was boxing, Oscar has always fought flat-footed, with very limited lateral movement. Even when he was prime fighter, he had fought like that. He got fast hand but not fast feet. Against a fighter who continuously dart in and out of range, you need to have feet movement to close the gap.

No, he wasnt, what happended was that he didnt make the weight properly, he was supposed to lose the weight gradually, but he drained himself before he started trainning to "adjust to 147" but he only made his body weaker, thats what i think

They didn't make him lose the weight good,he should have rehydrated a lot, they basically took his biggest advantage, size.

De La Hoya's main advantage was supposed to be his size and strength. By Staying at 147 for weeks before the fight he forfeited this.

He would have been better off hovering around the 150s then dehydrating his body (muscles) to make weight- keeping his strength advantage, as it was he lacked muscle around the legs, shoulders and arms and looked completely drained. I thought he looked out of breath hitting the pads in the changing room...

Its unbelievable that such an experienced boxer/camp he made such a basic mistake.

Go watch the Tito fight since you think he has no lateral movement

If he doesn't fight the best at 147, he must be scared.

LoL. That bum hasn't seen that fight, or the Tito fight. DLH has always had good lateral movement & footwork.

if he was weight drained they should have a rematch, so oscar can get his weight right this time. would the outcome be the same?
