He's been fight 'cans since 2004. That's seven frigging years of knocking out overmatched journeymen. His most dangerous opponents were Vinny Maddalone or Hawkins.. I had great hopes for him when I saw his first fights, but it's almost as if they're wasting his best years fighting nobodies. He looks like the kind of boxer who peaks at young age.

I guess he could at least fight a Dimitrenko, a Barret, hell, even Austin would be a step up.

I agree. I think Dimitrenko would be a good bout. Boytsov will never be known until he steps up. He still has potential but he is just wasting his time fighting bums.

agreed and i also think he peaks at young age i think he will just be another chagaev if that and look ordinary maybe grab alpha belt.

Chagaev also peaked at young age but had good ring iq so is still competitive

He had a titanium implant in his wrist I believe, because he puts too much power behind his punches and his bones can't take it. Once he fully recovers it's going to be a massacre.

The weird thing is, he has already beaten Bidenko (when he still was considered a prospect) and Pala (#6 WBO/WBO Euro Champ) years ago.

He has taken the Povetkin route... first take on a few names, then feast on bums until you get a WBA regular title shot. Only he has the hand trouble as a excuse for it.

probably waiting for the klits to retire

  7. Boytsov doesnt have it. He fights like once a year as if he's a;ready a champion. He has trouble with bums,he dosent try to please,he dosent fight like he's hungry,he'd rather win by late slow boring TKO rather then taking his man out in round 4 or 5.

Boytsov just finished, at least, two surgeries on his hands. He has had to test those hands, if no more trouble, he will start fighting better opponents, he has lots of talent, power, skills..............

I guarantee you none of this is Boytsov's doing. He's probably DYING to fight good opponents, but he has to do what Absurdium (er, Universum) tell him to do.

It's all likely politics & dollars, and their plans don't include letting Boytsov get big anytime soon. And yes, they have already wasted his best years.

    ----------

Having said all that, he really did NOT look good in his recent fight against Greer. I tried to blame this on his long injury layoff, but I just can't. He looks slower & unmotivated. No killer instinct at all.
