He was gassing out in his other fights that he got stopped in. Totally different and he turned his career around before Wilder. He also didnt train for Whyte and went the distance.

Wilder has the most shocking power I’ve seen. He just vaporises guys, but the guys he’s vaporising…

I'm not the grown man whose feelings got hurt by a Wilder ko.

I agree. And, I can't stand Wlad's boring, safety first style.

He laid out many top level opponents.

Wilder has done no such thing.

If it's not him, it's someone we don't have much or any footage on.
Wilder is a once in a century puncher.

You not being a grown man explains a lot - and I'm sure a Wilder KO would hurt more than just your feelings.

I think he has a better case in absolute terms than P4P to be honest.

Bon Fitzsimmons is the answer then - little footage and over a century ago ;)

    he's a top puncher
    of his time
    & of all time

    one of the best yes.
but it is futile to make 1 single boxer #1 in this category

He does have a nuclear right hand. Top 5 for sure. Sometimes when it comes to RAW power or hand speed, the footage speaks for itself and the eye test alone can make a convincing case.

Trainer Ennis points out that part of the reason Wilder hits so hard is 1-his punches can be very fast 2-he is unorthodox and it's sometimes hard to see them coming. Wilder has very underrated raw athleticism/fast twitch muscles with a basketball build allowing to deliver powerful whip like punches from odd angles. If Wilder fought straight up and textbook with proper form similar to Frank Bruno, he'd still have good power, but he'd have less spectacular jaw dropping KOs. It's often the quick shots you don't see coming that lead to the knockout.

I will also add that Wilder is both a good and bad finisher. What he does well is not letting guys off the hook, and he actually does throw combinations with both hands in a barrage to finish them off. What's bad is he pounces on them without much of a plan or setting up his punches. He rarely jabs to initiate his offense, rarely goes to the body, and can lack precision. In general Wilder is a pretty bad combination puncher outside of the 1-2, and his left hand isn't that amazing which goes back to what He Grant said: he's a bit of a 1-trick pony. An expert boxer, counter puncher, or defensive fighter can see through his limited (but effective) game plan and pick him apart.

If you think Rocky hits harder than Wilder you should go get an eye appointment.

    He isn't.

As my mother once told me "there's a difference between a grown man who has a masculine/mature mental frame and an adult male who simply has male sex organs".
