Is Deontay Wilder a modern day Cleveland "Big Cat" Williams ?

Let's say a free for all is started with all the fighters at LHW, CW and HW today. So it would basically comprise of fighters from ca 185 lbs upwards. Is it really that far fetched that even a guy like Dillian Whyte would wreak havoc, i e do a Liston, among the sub 200 guys?

both men are carrying 20 lbs more and my feeling is that favors Wilder because he was 212 lbs last fight but Fury may have put on more muscle and for a 6'9 guy i'm not sure it will make a difference.

Wilder improved in the 2 rematches he had- Fury in one vs Chisora. I am leaning towards Fury by decision but he has to fight the perfect fight and use some of the body work skill he has

If Fury fights the fight he fought against Klitschko he takes this but Wilder knows one punch can change a fight- Fury needs to let Wilder feel his power but in and out no trading

I believe Fury will win but as you said Fury's weight gain is cause for concern. Add to that, Wilder is dangerous from first bell to last so I'd say it's 55-45 Fury.

Yes it is far fetched. He wasn't Sonny Liston.

Wilder sure got pasted tonight. Ali barely hammered Williams any more comprehensively than Fury did Wilder. Total arse whipping that he may struggle to recover from.

On second thought, I'm gonna go one further and say Fury knocks him out in say 7. Wilder goes out on his shield.

We now know the answer with definitive clarity: yes. If not worse.

To sum it up best, Wilder is who we thought he is.

0 wins over a top contender in his prime.

I think he’s completely finished as a top 4-5 heavyweight.

I must say this, after watching the pre fight stuff, I do think Wilder is a pretty good guy. As a boxer his selection of opponents really irked me.

    sfter seeing those

Well now Big Cat vs Wilder is close to pick em. Fury hurt him easily. Once a puncher who can’t box has his chin and body exposed, he’s done for.

That is what happened tonight. If wilder fights a contender in his prime again, I’m picking the other guy by KO. Wilder wasn’t in there with an old man, nor was he exposed in victory vs mediocrity. He got pounded.

And Wilder wasn't missing ten feet of his intestines nor had a 357 lodged in his gut

If he loses a rematch against Fury, which I think he will, I think he will retire. So, yeah, his time as one of the top guys is probably over.

On the other hand, it's not impossible that Fury goes straight for a showdown with AJ, and in that case Wilder might plug along for a while longer, looking to get the winner of those two.
