Is he ? Canelo and GGG most likely are out of the ppv business so is wilders America's new ppv attraction? He earned a career. High 14 million with fury joshua made 15 million fighting takam and 25 million fighting povetkin

Not as of yet. If he gets good PPV figures in a fight that isn't against a Fury or Joshua, then yes

14 million? Is that what he got? But isnt that chicken feed crack money? Slave wages didnt he call it? Wilder could be a PPV star, hes took the 1st step facing Fury but he didnt look great although the fight was brilliant. I think it all depends on who he takes on next? He could of been a PPV star ages ago had he started fighting good names after 25 fights instead of 40 but the fans got tired of waiting and didnt see why they should show their support for somebody taking on cherrypicks fight after fight, although Fury was a cherrypick it nearly went wrong, should of gone wrong but he got away with it. If he takes on a challenge again im sure the PPV's will be decent, if Finkel has him running for the hills and back to the safety of bumfighting then he will just blow all the hard work of the Fury fight.

You need a mix of elite boxing skill, exciting and entertaining fights, willingness to fight exciting matchups/opponents and lots of charisma to become a PPV star. Wilder is very much lacking in most departments here.

I think he's pretty ****ed now lest he gets a Fury rematch and wins decisively. That joke of a scorecard did more damage to his reputation than good and the draw just cemented the idea that he was protected. He really needs Fury now to get to where he wants to be but I think he and his team fear a total whitewash in a rematch with no Fury showboating.

Well the opportunity is there, it sounds like the Fury camp badly want the rematch. I try to separate Wilder from his team when trying to think about what they want. I feel Wilder would want the rematch mainly because where the rest of us feel he got real lucky and lost all but 3 rounds max to get the draw he feels he should of won and Fury was lucky to get up from a "long" count. Finkel and the crew on the other hand are the protectors and i feel they definitely know they got lucky and escaped losing Wilders zero and WBC belt by the skin of his teeth.

I can imagine if it was up to Finkel and the management crew they would go nowhere near Tyson Fury again but to not rematch him when the other side is screaming for it and everybody seemed up for it post fight is going to set off alarm bells considering the reputation he had before he fought Fury.

This. Fury was the highest profile, best dance partner he could face who isn't called Joshua. He had controversy, the 'lineal championship' a mouth that was born to sell fights, the recovery from physical and mental issues etc etc. Even better he comes from AJ's home country, is prepared to trash him at every opportunity and he held all the belts Joshua now holds and never lost them in the ring. Then there's the puncher vs boxer line. Finally he draws a passionate fanbase to the weigh in and the arena helping to generate buzz all the way up to the bell. All in all marketers dream. If you can't sell that fight you don't belong in the business.

Would a Wilder fight against decent but slightly dull Breazeale or a rematch with Luis Ortiz command the same headlines or make the same splash in social media? Maybe, but to me the acid question is how much the success is down to Fury. My guess is a fair amount.

He got $4 million guarantee against Fury. No way the projected PPV numbers make him an extra $10 million.

Wilder isn’t a PPV attraction against anyone other than Fury or Joshua. Joshua has a crazy support base where people will buy the fight even if they know he wins easily, he’s on another level in terms of being a PPV star.

24 million generated from the US numbers and probably around 4-5 million from the UK, surely that gives him at least 10 of that share? Not saying it’s great but he’ll be making around 15 from the fight.

He’ll be a PPV star when people tune in to see him fight someone who isn’t Fury or Joshua. Other than that the only PPV associated with him is PissPoorViewership

Usually the PPV distributor will take 10%, the cable company 45% and the promoters 45%...the promoters then pay their fighters the guarantees out of that and then any percentage of profits they were offered. I'd be surprised if Wilder actually makes $7-8million out of those projected numbers.

Edit: just seen that Canelo/GGG took home $70million from 1.3millions buys at a slighter higher price and a better gate... So Fury/Wilder may share $18-20million between them.

Rather a PPV star in the making.
