It doesn't really matter at the end of the day cos whoever fights him know they have to be at their absolute best if they wanna win.

Its all well and good for fans to talk about his primitive skills but anybody who faces him knows they have fight the perfect perfect fight.
A simple mistake or lapse in concentration is all it takes for the fight to be over. Its that fight ender in the right and and his unpredictability that makes him formidable.

Maybe. But although he looks very awkward at what we think is ‘boxing technique’, that same awkwardness may make it difficult for the other fighter. Some people have a natural talent at judging distances and timing people and he KO’s far too many people for me to think it is just a series of flukes.

People tend to overlook his judgement of distance and timing, both of which are excellent. And considering he boxes like a man who knows many of his other fundamental skills are sub-prime and yet still finds a home for his right hand, his boxing IQ must be pretty good too...

It worked for Rocky Marciano. Rocky had tonnes of guts but was as raw as sushi.

Wilder is athletically talented, but everyone in this forum has seen what happened to athletically talented boxers when they get older.

Wilder is getting a lot older, I’m very surprised I have not seen any threads on here talking about his inevitable rapid decline with age, which happens to all boxers that really heavily on athletic talent.

Freddie wasn't just durable, he was insanely brave. Also, the circumstances of his death are hugely disputed.

Foreman had better technique when he was an older, fat fighter making a comeback. He also had one hell of a chin as an old comebacking fighter, something Wilder doesn't have.

I don't think Wilder lacks talent. Physically at least, he has a LOT going for him. It's just that he looks like he's never been taught how to box properly but he is getting better. His right hand delivery is actually quite frightening now since he straightened up the punch.

It's weird looking a a ring with 3 ropes. Wonder when that changed.

Wielder is very talented. What he lack is the skill. (Talent is God gifted ability, whereas Skill is an ability in which you put your time and efforts to develop.)

Thread should be least skilled boxer ever.

Wilder does not get enough credit ,it takes great skill to make much talented, skilled, tough fighters relaxed and let their guard down for a second which is all that he needs, AJ is not doing this fight for a reason, he knows his limitations

I’m just wondering how many Deontay Wilders, no skills - sheer power and some sense of distance, are wondering around the earth, not realising they could be earning millions in a boxing ring.

Mayorga is a better fit. Beat Lewis for the title, got 2 wins over a pretty skilled Forrest (thought he lost the rematch). Won a decision against Vargas. How bad was Fernarndo? Or was it the unorthodox style of the Cigarette smoker? He threw nothing accurate to become champ. I'm still not sure how he dropped Tito. Otke wasn't an advanced boxer either.

Wilder isn't as bad as. He has good movement, can throw accurate. It's when he gets his man hurt that he goes buck wild.

If Wilder is as bad as we say- if he is so chinny, why then do all his foes choose to throw so few punches? Serious..what is there to lose by throwing the entire arsenal at a man who supposedly can't take a punch?

Ortiz 1st fight threw 363 times. Only 180 in 7 rounds last fight. Fury threw just over 300 punches. What's to fear? Stivernne threw just 327 to Wilder's 621-- he landed over 200.

Again how does a non-boxing, talent-less fighter cause his foes to throw significantly less? Almost all of them throw around 350 punches. It is as if no matter the style be it Fury, Ortiz, Arreola, Stivernne- none of them takes the chance and dare to be great as one poster mentioned on the AJ/Ruiz II fight.
Did any of Wilder's opponents dare to be great against a windmill flailing fighter?

Wilder is writing his legacy like every other HW champ. 10 defenses been shaken, rattled, still standing!
