i think a lot would depend on the preparation ruiz does before the fight.
if he goes through a boxing camp then he has a puncher's chance.
if he goes through camp krispy kreme? then no way, not a snowball's chance in hell.

Not sure Hearn can be blamed for the spectacular failure that turned out to be.

Well he wanted to put him in with a big fat bum Baby Miller then to save his show he put him in with a fat midget that can actually fight...that night was the end of AJ as king of heavyweights

We all know how it played out. Yes, poor opponent choice by Hearn but it was Joshua who blew it.

    Very true ..

However Joshua was/is fragile . He should have been in with Wilder but they was after an easy touch for USA debut

Worse for sure. AJ was alright for Pulev, alright for Usyk, and solid for Usyk 2, he should have improved on that. He tried to change, and they completely changed him, which is bad.
They added new stuffs, but literally removed his most dangerous weapons, aka his close-mid game with uppercuts/hooks/etc.
Now he is just looking for that right hand, and setting it up with body shots/chest shot is getting obvious.
And i actually don't like his "new defense" i think it's worst than before.

Again AJ from Ruiz 1 was a recipe for disaster, and he needed to be more careful, but this version is just not where it should be. It's a pity really, he could be so much more.

But i think he was constantly getting the wrong advice and constantly listen to wrong people.
The mania with UK/USA coaches, when he should have look for similar ones to BIvol/Usyk/Loma type of coaches. Ones that would have actually make him a good natural boxer, not just a wrecking machine. :D

It was understandable that they wanted the first up fight in the US to be one that 'showcased' Joshua but it played out like their worst possible nightmare.

In the context of AJ being revered based on an Olympic gold medal amateur career and then not facing an upper tier puncher til' old Wlad after 20-ish pro fights and then getting religion after the lil chubby vato Ruiz stops him: I like how AJ looked tryin to box more than be a batttlewagon. Problem is he was fighting a better boxer as a test to the transition. I think the direction of his last coupla' camps is the right one. AJ aint Lennox Lewis. He ain't George Foreman. Imo, at his core, he's an athlete that fights rather than a fighter that enjoys some pro level of athleticism. So they're trying to be realistic about that. Credit to the camp that's trying to make a boxer.

    edited for accuracy

Ruiz would be a much harder fight than Dubois, Joshua or Fury were for Usyk.

He is a Mexican warrior, brave and proud, he would not stop trying.

Usyk wins but he will have to work hard for 12 rounds, the British fighters are broken by half way and the second half is always very easy for Usyk.

Joshua is a mid range fighter. There trying to turn him into a bodybuilder. Please go back to Ronnie Coleman and McCracken Anthony! Tell them you're sorry for dropping the dumbbells on the floor! lol
