So this 20 yo MUST be comparable to Floyd Mayweather jr, Tyson, and Ali? Quite the tall order a 20 yo needs to be compared to. Guess he doesn't deserve fans or hype...

I am mind blown how people think that Devin Haney is anything close to pretty boy Floyd. A young Floyd Mayweather would have whooped Alfredo Santiago in 4 rounds.

 

Make sure you keep that same energy for Pac when it comes to his obscene power which is 50% of his success with his style.

 

Haney doesn't have the defense of PBF. With that said PBF was more offensive at 130 and 135 but I've seen Haney get hit with punches that PBF wouldn't get hit with. With PBF he might get caught once but when was the last time you saw him get with that same punch again and again other than a jab? Haney's footwork also isn't as good. Of course his ring IQ won't be as good, Haney is still only 21 or 20 so he has plenty time left to improve.

 

Pac doesn't have obscene power, but he does have EXCELLENT power and yes, it's 50% of his success. It's what keeps people from stopping him given the fact that most opponents are 10-15 pounds heavier. Not many guys are willing to walk through fire.

Don’t know but It was on one of those Ellie Sachbac videos in a posh car park with Floyd and Devin Haney had a car to rival Floyds and this was only when he just turned pro.
Not sure how it came up but they said his father was a very wealthy man so any hunger on Haney’s part is purely boxing related as he really doesn’t need to do it for the money.

 

Quick google search has revealed his father his some big music executive and is separated from the mother.
I think he could be his sons manager or something like that.Needless to say I think Devin Haney is a very impressive young guy as he doesn’t come across as a thug like Broner or someone with a silver spoon in his mouth.

 

Besides being African-American, long, and athletic, there really aren't many similarities at all and you'd be reaching pretty far to find any semblance. FMJ looked like a clearly superior fighter in almost everyway - if not everway. Haney IMO is going to be a very good fighter, mayne even a great, but he will never hit once-in-a-generation level like FMJ. Not even close.
