Is Diaconu ever going to fight?

He's fighting either Henry or Branco for the WBC Interim Champ title in Bucharest, on the 29th of March. If he wins, the winner of Dawson v. Johnson will have to defend the WBC title against him within 120 days.

 

He'll fight in Romania on March 29 for an interim WBC paper title. His opponent should be either Sylvio Branco or Christopher Henry.

He can't wait to fight. I saw him training last week. He's litterally spitting fire.

You saw Diaconu train? At the InterBox gym? Are spectators allowed? How was he? How is his punch? What moved does he train for? Did he look mentally weak to you?

I am not an expert....just a normal fan! Interbox gym is located in a city multi-sport training center. General public has access to it, but not really to Interbox gym. I had to stop there for business purposes. There I just pushed my luck, knock on the door, did my pitch and had a brief look for few minutes. I can only tell that he is in great shape. Mentally affected? Hopefully not! Hungry...yes! He is training with Bute so how come not being in great shape

For sure, his waiting tends to become longer than Alcine who also waited a very long time (12-15 months) before having a title shot.

 

Did you see him sparr with Bute?:shock:

 

No, but both are sparring together from time to time. I guess Maxime could answer better than me to that question. Interbox is a very little stable. So, their reservoir of sparring partners is very limited unless they invite an external boxer such as Carl Handy which uses to help Bute in his preparation.

Same with GYM....Alcine as a junior middleweight uses to sparring with
Jean Pascal and Adonis Stevenson who are both big SMW.

Oh and if Dawson beats Johnson I hope he doesn't try to purse Calzaghe or Tarver.

 

There's nothing for Dawson to agree to! If he wants to keep the belt, he has to defend it within 120 days against the new WBC Interim Champ, or he loses it and the WBC Interim Champ becomes the WBC Champ. (WBC ruling) Even more, Dawson has no get-out clause, whether it be through injury, illness, etc. - he doesn't defend, he loses the belt, as simple as that.
