Is Dimitrenko not available for Wlad in December?

Dimitrekno's fight against Bakhtov fell apart a few days ago due to "urgent surgery" that was required. Dimitrenko is now without a challenger and apparently has no opponent lined up.

A few more facts that speak in favor of Dimitrenko:

    - #9 in the IBF HW rankings, qualifying for a voluntary defense
    - Dimitrekno's promoter Universum has no TV deal, therefore Dimitrenko should be hungry for a title shot
    - Dimitrenko is reasonably well known in Germany, after his win over local hero Luan Krasniqi
    - Dimitrenko while lacking chin or any type of passion and heart at least has physical parameters (height, reach) to make this an interesting matchup for 2-3 rounds

All things considered this is the best opponent out there for Wlad, considering that Solis/Adamek/Haye/Povetkin all do not want to fight at this time. Make no mistake this isn't a great matchup by any standards, but it's the best of the crap that's out there IMO.

Does anybody know why Dimitrenko hasn't been considered yet? Is Universum not yet interested in sacrificing him?

I considered Dimitrenko the other day, but given his loss to Chambers, Wlad's subsequent win against Chambers and the fact Dimitrenko still hasn't really came back from that loss- he doesn't seem such an appealing opponent. Still, he's probably better than some of the names suggested. They could fight in Ukraine

Same here.....Dimitrenko just doesn't hold the appeal for me, seeing the way he lost to Chambers, and then the way Wlad KO'd Chambers.

Dimitrenko's team would have to be insane to put him in the ring with Wlad, unless they all know he is never going to be champion and agree to take a payday. Sdunek said that before the Chambers fight that he needed to prove that he is tough enough for the top level, his manager complained about his lack of toughness afterwards. Why would they send him into a hopeless battle with Wlad?

Interesting. Probably the best name available that Wlad hasn't fought yet. I'd like to see Wlad up against someone his own size (actually Dimitrenko may be a little bigger).

I hope this fight would come off. I hate that traitor douche and would love to see Wlad pummel him like the ***** that he is.

After Chisora, Tua, Adamek, Toney backing out Dimitrnko would be an ok fight. He has no height and reach disadvantages, is fast for 6ยด7 ". That would be a good fight.

I was talking about Dimitrenko. A year or two ago (before his fight with Chambers) he was on russian tv spewing how much he dislikes Ukraine and thinks of himself as Russian only and would like to represent Russia instead. A lot of boxing fans in Ukraine got really pissed, but the Russians did not care and did not really support this guy anyway.
So, I hope he gets brutalized by Klitshcko.

arguably dmitrenko is one of the top ranked realistic opponents.

behind only arreola, thompson and ustinov.
