This may sound nuts, but I do feel they are gearing towards a big big PPV. If DLH sticks around, gets a few Ws next year, Chavez is going to make some noise. Especially if DLH starts to show his age. I still think Chavez is too raw and still may be in a year and a half. With DLH dropping back down in weight, I wouldn't be surprised if this happens sometime late next year. If Chavez remains undefeated and breaks into the top 10, they are only inching towards eachother. You know that at some point, when he and his camp feels he is ready, junior is going to call out DLH. Deep down he wants to fight DLH and is only waiting till victory is almost certain.

Don't be surprised and remember where you heard it first.

Chavez Jr.?, don't make me laugh man. No way will Oscar blow a chance to fight many out there that are worthy and go for Chavez who he can EASILY beat.

DLH isn't blowing a thing. This fight would could be a money pit. DLH knows it and would be a fool not to take the fight if he were offered tomorrow. Its easy money for him at this point. It wouldn't be a huge event like DLH's last fight but with some momentum, nice looking wins on both parts, it could sell.

I know junior isn't a big enough draw to make DLH/Mayweather type numbers but that name will sell itself. Its brewing and only in time will this become more and more attractive, especially if DLH goes back to 147.

I can totally see this happening in time. If JCC jr. beat ODLH it would be CRAZY. I'd buy the pay-per-view and i have a feeling that PLENTY of other people would as well.

If De La Hoya is still fighting in early '09, it's a possiblity.

Maybe even if Chavez Jr. feels ready in the fall of '08.

This is a very real possibility and there's a shitload of money that would be involved.

I don't think that such a fight will interest DLH and I don't think he'll take this fight at all. It's worth nothing for him at this point, he already beat the father twice and wasn't given any credit, what's the point of beating the son who hasn't had a major fight yet and most likely won't(not after 5 or 6 more fights in my opinion). DLH has next year and that's it, don't expect this fight to happen at all. DLH clearly stated that he wants fights that motivate him at this stage, do you think a fight against Chavez Jr.(who's having 10 rounders at this point) is a fight that will motivate him?
He already got enough heat from beating the father back then, he'll just get more for beating the "young" new son.

My god, the man isn't that hell bent on ruining the Chavez family is he? Smack down his father as Oscar was coming up, and then smack down the son on the way out. It would have a nice story line though, and would make some money, so you never know.

I'll buy the PPV as well for sure but I just don't see this happening and I'll be EXTREMELY shocked if DLH mentions it.

That's exactly what I mean. He'll just be hated more by the Mexican people that already admire both Jr. and Sr. Oscar won't mention a possiblity to fight him but if Jr. does then the chances are high for Oscar to accept and don't expect Jr. to mention it seriously. I'd love to see it but it won't happen.

And might never be on that level judging by the way he fights after 33 professional fights.

Honestly, this wouldn't surprise me down the road a few years. DLH is all about the money, and you can't tell me this would not generate money.

Oscar "The Chavez Hunter" De La Hoya

Would be fun to see De La Hoya retire after a fight against him..But Chavez seems content to call out ultra-light hitters like Malignaggi, or completely shot fighters like Gatti at the time being (No offense intended, I'm a fan of Gatti's).
