I see a lot of similarities in the way Marquez's and Donaire's careers have progressed. Both were badly managed early on, outshined by more popular compatriots and outshined by rivals who have more exciting styles. Hopefully Donaire's career takes off much earlier than when Marquez received universal acclaim.
JMM is a very good, infact superb counterpuncher but he is not a defensive genius that people purport him to be. Regardless whether he is fighting a bum like Jaca or a gatekeeper like Diaz, he ends up eating a lot of leather and mostly bloodied. Mayweather is actually better because his recents fights he tend to be purely a counterpuncher (a boxer who waits for the opponent to initiate action before throwing a punch by definition) but he seldom gets tagged. Unless of you include those potshotting jabs as offense, FMJ seldom initiates action.. Some say that is bicycling or running but definitions are definitions. It's like someboby's terrorist is someone's hero.
Juan Manuel Marquez is better whether he is better than Floy is debatable, we will find out. He is easily better than NONITO.He is a versatile fighter he can stand and bang with the best or counter which is more his forte. But like I said, better than Nonito it's not even close.. :bbb
At the moment you have to say Marquez is the best counter puncher in boxing right now but if Floyd's counter punching skills are still where they at like they were in 2007 then you will have to he is the best counter puncher. But Nonito Donaire is defitnely top 10 in that category also.
why mention pac's name in a thread he has nothing to do with? are you dreaming about him every night?
