Is Dubois Now The Best HW In Britain?

Fury beats Dubois imo

 

I’d like to see Fury v Dubois,however we all know the money fight is Fury v Joshua. Should Fury fight Dubois instead and go after his IBF belt then for me it shows he is more serious about challenging again than taking the big money basically meaningless fight with Joshua. Even if Fury v Joshua does happen the winner can still not even proclaim themselves best of Britain as long as Dubois is on the scene .

Tentatively, he might well be.

He has a good resume, especially for his age and he's still very much on the way up.

Fury's an enigma as ever - hasn't won properly in a couple of years, hasn't beaten a legit (neither fraud nor fried) contender since Wlad... And yet still looked competitive against Usyk - outclassed, but competitive enough that he's clearly got ability that puts him up there somewhere... And both times far more competitive than Dubois was, and weirdly for Fury, less dirty at the same time.

Whether he's definitely ahead of Joshua is still debatable given the gulf between their resumes and the huge difference in competitiveness against a common opponent (Usyk) where Joshua was solid but clearly beaten and Dubois was so outclassed he had no option other than to go in with cheating as his primary plan... Then again, Dubois has gotten better since then and Joshua definitely hasn't.

The thing we don't necessarily know (yet) is whether Dubois beating Joshua was a bit of a fluke, catching him on just the right day and with the right/wrong fight plans for each man... Or whether Dubois is just a much better fighter than Joshua - the evidence is a little thin just yet, but it certainly looks possible.

As a rule, I tend to give the far more proven fighter the benefit of the doubt with a blowout/stoppage loss when they get hurt early - dominant wins by the far more proven fighter don't need rematches, but I'm not against them when the up-and-coming fighter gets the win (it depends on the circumstances - dominant points wins are clearly different from a fighter getting buzzed or sparked early).

Until we see more fights between these guys (Joshua-Dubois rematch, Joshua-Fury, Dubois-Fury) we won't know for sure.

What we do know is that Dubois is getting better at a good rate and looks likely to dominate the next era at this point - but who knows who's going to make it to challenge him there.

 

I'd back Fury over Dubois ATM. I think Fury still has enough in his locker to beat Dubois and it would be a great fight.

If Fury wants to fight again, the AJ fight will be much more hyped up and financially lucrative but the Dubois fight would probably be better for Fury's record and I think Fury would much rather lose to Dubois than to AJ. Personally, would be happy to see either fight TBH, both would be very good top level domestic dust-ups.

I defo can't rank AJ higher than Dubois and Fury.

 

Who would you back in a fight between Fury and Dubois?

 

I would love to see Dubois-Fury to definitively answer this question. But, I doubt Fury has the stones anymore to take that fight. And, probably for good reason. A bad knockout loss against Dubois would not only hurt his legacy, but, it could also prevent Fury-Joshua from happening

 

Fury over Dubois in my opinion. Fury has more junkyard dog in him. I think Dubois is mentally weaker. I also think Fury is the better boxer and has better mobility and certainly much more size. Dubois would imho have to KO Fury in the first four or he's likely doomed.

 

I think Dubois's recent performances have flattered him a bit to be quite honest. I've never thought much of Hrgovic yes he has a good chin but I can't see that he has many other stand out qualities.

In regards to Joshua yes it's a good win but Joshua is in his mid 30s and hadn't had a real test in years.

I think Parker will answer the question in regards to how good Dubois really is Parker has been battle tested recently taking on good opponents. He's riding the crest of the wave full of confidence atm and more importantly he has a solid chin so he won't be getting stopped early.

 

I will go with Itauma atm.

 

As long as Usyk isn't vacationing there, sure.
