Do you think he stands a chance against AJ?

Yes of course but on this day would favour Joshua
That may change nearer the fight when I think about it more closely

I thought the work that Dubois displayed against Usyk up until after the flooring blow in round 5 was impressive, he displayed great boxing ability.

    The Compubox stats prove this:

Total punches landed thru 5 rounds

    R1 – Usyk 6 | Dubois 5
    R2 – Usyk 11 | Dubois 5
    R3 – Usyk 11 | Dubois 7
    R4 – Usyk 9 | Dubois 7
    R5 – Usyk 6 | Dubois 5

Total power punches landed thru 5 rounds (as you know a lot of judges put emphasis on power punches)

    R1 – Usyk 1 | Dubois 1
    R2 – Usyk 4 | Dubois 4
    R3 – Usyk 4 | Dubois 4
    R4 – Usyk 4 | Dubois 6
    R5 – Usyk 2 | Dubois 4

The issue for Dubois was that he was a split second behind an ultra-fast heavyweight slightly more often than not. In saying that, I think the controversial blow that floored Usyk was a legal blow, which if ruled a legal blow, the fight would have ended in a Dubois victory. Dubois clearly lost his composure and couldn't regain it after the blow was ruled an accidental illegal low blow.

If Dubois employs the same tactics against Joshua (who isn't an ultra-fast heavyweight) as he did against Usyk which is box twitchy at range and maintain his composure, don’t be surprised to see Dubois’ hand raised via decision or stoppage.

Regarding the defeat against Joyce, in hindsight, he probably made the right decision or he could have suffered a career ending injury.

    Dubois won't beat Joshua.

But at the same time, he's not even prime yet and far more proven than most of the popular prospects (most of whom are also older than him)...

Maybe there'll be a young prospect who comes up fast and dominates - maybe even Itauma - but it's not at all unusual for these prospects to look like they're going to be something incredible and then hit a wall at a level somewhere below the very top level which they can't overcome.

Right now, I would be surprised if Dubois doesn't manage to get hold of a title at some stage - he's got a combination of youth and already being well proven for someone his age (despite the losses) that would suggest he'll be able to keep on building up.

If Dubois has the same non-existent defense against AJ that he did against Hrgovic, don't be surprised to see AJ stop him. He got hit clean by way too many rights to the face to survive if AJ had been the one throwing them.

What’s impressed me about the combination of Dubois and his trainer Don Charles is they seem to approach each fight very differently.

Against Usyk - Dubois boxed twitchy at range which was effective, especially if you consider the flooring blow to be a legal shot.

Against Miller - Dubois boxed slow, leaned, pushed, plodded, fought on the back foot and equalled Millers energy.

Against Hrgovic – Dubois was staunch, he tested the power of his opponent and stood his ground. He was willing to take one to give one. He eventually started to take one and give two in return.
