In all seriousness, can this guy really become a threat to his division with a chin like that? It didn't seem like a lucky punch to me, hell it seemigly was one of the only punches Russo threw, or at least connected. I know people that know Todd and they say he wasn't focused, "played" with Russo too much and wants to avenge his loss ASAP.

My take is, sure he'll KO a couple low grade fighters, but once someone who's not a total joke with a little punching power faces off with him, he'll will do the same damn thing. You can't train your chin. Duffee looked pretty good in there but at the very first hint of adversity, his chin gave out. I think it'll only get worse and once your chin gets cracked like that it's never the same, but regardless, it obviously wasn't a solid chin anyway.

So any serious MMA experts in here care to chime in on this? Predictions for this guys future? I say within a year he's back to working at Dairy Queen.

I actually agree with you on this. I was thinking pretty much the exact same thing. The guy is talented, he's a good athlete, and as you said he'll KO a couple of low grade fighters, but when he fights someone that can fight him back, he may fold again. Now his chin has been found out. I wouldn't be suprised if he ends up on the recieving end of a record setting knockout. His chin is **** poor. A real striker would hava shattered that china chin even worse than Russo did. As far as his future, Duffee may beat up some tomato cans and maybe even one day avenge his loss to Russo, but I think it'll be in another organization, where the world isn't watching or gives a ****. Duffee vs Bob Sapp would be interesting. Both their last names match themeslves.

Dude, you should hear these Duffee schmoes. They actually said "I feel sorry for the next guy that fights Todd. He's dead serious now."

Arlovski was successful in MMA as a striker without exactly having an amazing chin. Forrest Griffin tends to stand and strike and he doesn't have the best chin in the world. Jardine has had a lot of success without the greatest chin in the world.

Duffee is real young and was doing well in the fight until he got KOed. Not everyone becomes champion you guys, I think Duffee could possibly recover from this loss and do well for himself. It's too early to say that he has no business in MMA or anything. The dude definitely has potential.

I hear what you're saying but the way he was KO'd was pretty serious. It wasn't a flash knock down where he was G&P'd out, and the punch didn't exactly have any violent power behind it. This happened way to early in his career IMO for him to have a serious future ahead. Not to mention he may be head hunted now that he's been exposed. Yea, he looked good against Russo before the KO, but at the same time it was against Russo, not a striker, not another strong guy -- just an ok fighter. Duffee threw everything plus the kitchen sink at this guy and couldn't even hurt him -- It was as if he had a heavy bag in front of him. That in itself was pretty bad.

The next few fights will tell us wether Duffee is the goods. He was KO'ed through exahaustion. I dont buy the whole chin crap. The kid is very inexperienced and it showed. He's clearly in love with his standup and needs to learn to really mix it up. Apparently he has a black belt in BJJ but we didnt see one take down attempt. Apparently he's a good striker ( and he is fairly decent not by a boxing standard though ) but we saw literally no kicks. Duffee really needs alot of spit and polish if he wants to become a serious threat. Otherwise he's just going to be another spartan like AA who's barks worse than his bite.

Duffee is a formidable physical specimen who's chin is **** poor. He needs to switch up his game by using leg kicks to create more distance and grappling to avoid blows to the head. If his chin was solid then he is really good on his feet but then so is GSP, Arlovski etc He needs to switch it up. Simple as. Fighting is very much about ego and being macho so I just hope he has the self perspective to do what needs to be done.

I think he's got the reach to work round it. This loss will either be a wake up call or signs of things to come.

It was one fight, he will be just fine.

We MMA fans tend to overreact quite a bit.

Did Lawler's carrer end with Nick Diaz?

The fight showed he has a genetic weakness. He got tapped on the base of the jaw just near his ear and went to sleep proper. It was not due to fatigue or lack of focus or training, it was lights out time. There is nothing he can do about this. No training will help him, he can be as 'serious' as he likes he is not built genetically for fighting despite his physique.

He will always get KO'd if someone lands on him. like i said in another forum the other guy is probably, no, definitely the lightest punching HW in all MMA and TD got KTFO.

His bubble is burst, his secret is out. They must have known about his chin in the UFC hence the matchmaking of the guy he was fighting, lightest puncher ever, trying to build him up due to his appearance. I heard Shonie Carter once in an interview say that MMA org's put pressure on guys to look good as they believe that the fans live vicariously through the fighters, hence Brocks favouritism IMO. Dana wants a super hero looking guy with the belt in every weight division. TD fitst the bill perfectly aprt from the fact he is a naural born ***** when it comes to taking punishment.

To be fair, he looked absolutely horrible and was wide, wide, wide open for counter shots the whole night, he got caught with the cross but was even more open for the hook because he was throwing that uppercut from right field. He didn't recover his hands by default, rather his defense was reactionary, good up until someone uses a feint.. It just looked very wreckless, against someone who is actually a precision striker, with all the tricks and gadgets, moving at angles, using feints, setting up upstairs shots with leg kicks, setting up head kicks with body kicks, things seem very scary considering what he showed us.

Bright side, he stuffed and shrugged off takedown attempts like nobodies business, even though he gassed a bit, he maintained, signs of a very good gas tank if he paces himself.

It is just one fight like you say Beebs. Maybe he showed us his worst, if that is the extent of his defense as a striker, he's in big trouble me thinks.
