Yeah, but Duran was beaten by Hearns, Leonard and Benitez, blah ****ing blah blah. You know that that that poster wont address the questions i posed to him.

Yeah, he's around top 10 p4p, for sure. There aren't many things like Pea's masterclass against Chavez, though. Perhaps my all time favorite clinic.

Great performance by Whitaker. No doubt. But Chavez was past his best and not suited for 147, in the same vein Duran wasnt suited for 154.

Spot on. The incredible thing for me is Barkley fought a superb tactical fight and still walked away without the chocolates.

i cant believe im defending leonard over duran. duran beat leonard, fair and square, in a close battle. he simultaneously beat one of the greatest welterweights of all time and won the lineal welterweight title. it was one of the best victories in boxing history.

however just a few months after he suffered one of the worst losses in boxing history. he stuffed himself silly then pepto bismal'd into terrible shape. he then fought another close match with leonard until the last round or two when leonard starting showing off. duran realized his stomach hurt and his feet were slow so turned his back, turned his ****ing back to his opponent and casually dismissed the welterweight championship of the world with a wave of his hand.

leonard may have been a big welterweight but remember duran was a big lightweight. next time you think of duran as the best lightweight of all time, remind yourself of the time he gave up the welterweight crown because he ate too much.

Barkley may have fought his greatest fight that night. At least his smartest. After the fight I believe The Blade said something along the lines of "I did everything I was supposed to do. It was his will it just wouldn't break."

Tell that to Joe Gans and Benny Leonard, maybe Ike Williams.

So taking into account every fight every fighter had at the weight? Enormous job. You'd spend weeks building a list, even allowing that I have the right 30 names to hand.

He held a guy coming up in weight to a draw. Nice effort but hardly the stuff of legend.

And yes. I can say that I was there for the fight.

people are overrated Barkley. He really was not a great fighter and rather open. Benn knocked him out in one round. If you want to make Barkley and all time great to give Duran credit fine, but then recognize Hearns and Benitez outclassing Duran 5 and 7 years before.
