He's the hardest puncher Cobb ever faced so that makes him an all-time great heavyweight???

    Listen to yourself.

You need to stop dropping names and start using your brain a bit more.

I never said Earnie was an ATG I said he was the hardest puncher in my opinion & also that he was a very nice guy to talk to. My favs dont have to be ATG's. Some you call ATG's like Floyd & Canelo I regard as manufactured champions who are $$$$$$ to the commissions & therefore heavily protected

As for dropping names ?? Do I sense a smack of jealousy that Ive been lucky enough to have been in & around the game a long time & have met & become friends with these people ? Seems that way

Possibly the Hardest Punching Heavyweight we have ever seen....Big George Foreman said he punched harder than anyone he had ever face...coming from Big George that is the Ultimate testament.!!!

Hearing Tex Cobb say Earnie was the hardest hitter & the only man that really hurt him enough to feel like quitting. The feelings were mutual Earnie said " That man must have had concrete poured in his jaw I hit him harder with shots than Ive knocked guy out with & he just said Is that the best you got Earnie" ?

Waiaiaiait just a minute friend, methinks you got things mixed up here.
MANY who fought Shavers-virtually everyone-said he hit the hardest.
Ali. Holmes. Cobb. Norton. Tillis. Likely Lyle, Quarry & Ellis. And whoever I forget at this late night moment...

    But Foreman never fought Shavers.
I do not believe that they ever sparred.
Foreman can be seen on youtube, David letterman, saying that Cleveland Williams, Lyle & Cooney hit the hardest.

Where do you think you heard Foreman said this about Shavers?

I don't think he is thought of as all time great, but his power sure is mentioned as all time great.

Not an ATG heavyweight but an ATG puncher for sure.

Shavers holds 1st round KOs over Ellis and Norton. 2nd round KO over Clark and a 3rd round KO over Young. Add decent wins like Smith and Williams. That's a pretty good resume for any HW contender.

I like Shavers a lot. Just an all around good guy, and a great ambassador for the sport of boxing, not an ATG heavyweight, but a solid contender, with unbelievable power. I say yes. He's a credit to the sport of boxing, and gentleman.
