Is Elmer Violent Ray still alive?

Hya Rocky...I saw Elmer Ray twice .once when he won a dec.over Jersey Joe Walcott, and when he kod Lee Savold,left-hooker at Ebbet's Field,a few blocks from where i lived. Both in 1946.
Ray who was born in 1912 [2 years older than Louis ],would be 99 years old,
were he still living. I doubt if he is.I have been an avid reader of newspapers all my life, and never read anything of Elmer Ray dying but then again his
passing probably was overlooked. Very few heavyweights live to ninety, let alone 99. Take care R....
