Tough to say right now. I’d pick Ennis to beat everyone on Bud’s resume, but not sure who the higher talent is. I think Ennis does his best to look as flashy as possible while Bud always seemed more natural and relaxed. I also think Bud is better at switch hitting since he does it with a purpose while Ennis just seems to do it to again, look good. I’ve never seen a scenario in any of Ennis’ fights where all that switching was necessary. I personally think he looks stronger at orthodox and would do himself a favor just mastering one stance. I don’t like Crawford but I’m honestly confident that he’ll stop Spence, which is something I can’t say about Ennis.
Agreed with you about Ennis switching stances for no reason other than to look good. Yesterday he switched to southpaw to look good and showcase his skills. He wouldve been better suited fighting Villa Orthdox. Fight wouldve probably ended earlier.
Does Ennis have more flash and pizzazz than Crawford? Maybe, yeah. But Crawford is certainly the better fighter at this point as the flash and pizzazz he shows is against far greater talent. It's not fair to compare the two without Ennis stepping up imo. We have seen what Crawford does during adversity (see Hulk mode) but we haven't seen Boots tested yet
Crawford's opposition at Welterweight isn't that great though, and theres no one his resume that Ennis wouldn't be favoured to beat. I agree we need to see Ennis step up before we make a real decision on him, but Crawford is also stepping up vs Spence. Hes never fought anyone near as good as Spence and vice a versa for Spence.
Too soon, Boots has tremendous skills but I haven't seen him really tested yet. Head to head I think Bud is to far past his prime to beat him at 147 but that's why you make the fight,,,to find out.
Agree. I was just saying that Crawford has done it at a higher level and I think as you step up in comp, less of the flashy stuff is effective and it is more difficult to overwhelm higher class comp.
In terms of natural physical talent, maybe, he's fast, hits hard and seems pretty co-ordinated. But in terms of skills he's levels below Crawford right now. Talent only takes you so far, skills pay the bills.
At this point we can't say he is. Crawford has shown his ability up to this point. We still learning what Boots has, and he's proving himself each fight. I think Boots will surpass him in that department when the smoke is all settled. Still too soon to say.
Yes, quite stupid comment. As usual. I repeat, I hope you are a forum animator, because the other option is very sad for you
Well he's a 3 division world champ that held all the belts at 140. And Spence has ducked him for years
