I wouldn't say GOAT trainer. But definitely he was one of the better ones since the early 2000s. Not many trainers have made successful champions and stuck with them.
great for fitness coaching, that mucyh is true. poor joe cal must have trained 10 times as hard as his opponents to maintain that fitness advantage he had.
I just had a thought What a circus act it would be Enzo Calzaghe & his Performing Goats Featuring Slapper Joe
People here thinking this is a troll thread need to educate themselves more on the legend Enzo Calzaghe. Folks here that think Enzo Calzaghe just got lucky because of his gifted son DKSAB and to a certain extent dont know sht about life in general. They question Enzo's credentials, saying a trainer must be a student before he can be a teacher, but if they really knew Enzo Calzaghe's life they would know he learnt it the hard way. Even Mike Tyson realised Enzo Calzaghe was no joke:- [yt]g8RViaNFpUU[/yt] Joe Calzaghe was bricking it infront of Tyson, but Zaggers old man seen too much sht to be shook of anyone. With choices limited to crime or poverty in the mean streets of Sardinia, Enzo Calzaghe took the tougher option and effectively mastered the art of the guitar. This extensive comprehension of the Art of music laid the future foundations to give him a wider scope of the Art of boxing. A unique yet effective transition it later came out to be. Living rough in phone boxes, and various European streets, Daddy Zaggers found his way to the harsh streets of London. But with now mouths to feed and the music business not paying well, the man took the tough blue collar line of struggle. Working in factories that made his hands coarrse and rugged that later on caused his son to get glass hands as padwork with Enzo Calzaghe's hands was no joke. With better pay and opportunities Enzo Calzaghe moved to the bumpy terrain of Wales and became a window salesman. During this period, Enzo Calzaghe preceded Danial son and Mr Miyagi in mastering the wax on wax off technique as he needed to keep the windows clean for sale. He learnt hard work-dedication whilst understanding the very nature of glass. The ductility, the brittleness, the exposure of glass, Daddy Zaggers picked up key knowledge which later on led him to becoming a glass jaw specialist. When his own son developed the the problematic glass hands, Enzo Calzaghe owes his experience to the window selling business to protecting and preserving Joe Calzaghe's brittle hands and this even helped with the glass jawed fighters he had in his stable. With a wide range of careers including musician, window cleaner, bus driver, and blue collar work, Enzo Calzaghe picked up key attributes that his son later on displayed, versatility. Adaptability. Transition. While other trainers had top of the range boxing facilities at there gym, Enzo Calzaghe had to make do with an old rusty Rugby equipment shed that he turned into a boxing gym. They say Enzo Calzaghe got lucky because his son was gifted. Then what about Gavin Rees, Gary Lockett and Bradley Pryce. Nathan Cleverly was on his way to being the next big thing under the tutelage of Daddy Zaggers and then look what happened to him when he left Enzo. Bernard Hopkins should have beaten Calzaghe with ease, but was shaken up before the fight by Zaggers dad. BHop was intimidated, confused and suprised from the verbal onslaught of Enzo Calzaghe. That wasn't Zab Judah, or Victor Ortiz, that was Bernard Hopkins, the hardened, veteran legend that was taken aback from the realness of Enzo Calzaghe.
