Yes its still on. According to a Sky Sports News article the WBC denied the reports saying that Morales tested positive for a banned substance. this is why the sport is a joke. he failed a test BEFORE a fight, yet still gets to fight? What is the purpose of pre-fight drug testing then? Doesn't the NYSAC supersede Golden Boy and the sanctioning bodies? Wouldn't Morales(or any boxer) face a suspension if they, at the very least, were to fail a post-fight drug test?
I wondered this myself, not sure how this one checks out. Wasn't the Floyd vs. Ortiz fight under WBC jurisdiction when they had pre-fight drug testing? In a hypothetical sense what if Ortiz or Floyd had failed a test in the same way that Morales did, what would of happened?
There are lots of reasons the sport is a joke, nonsense like this is nowhere near as bad as say the top 2 p4p boxers flat out refusing to fight, that`s the sort of **** that has killed boxing.
If Ortiz tested positive I really would love to say that the NSAC would have the courtesy and respect for the sport to cancel the fight, but really deep down everyone knows it would to be Floyd's call.
It's embarrassing, if this happened in any other sport the athlete would be suspended. No fight will be ever be canceled as a result of a failed drug test. Promoters don't care about the integrity of their sport. They would much rather make money. It makes them look foolish soon. Boxing is one step above WWE at this point.
